Unhappy New consultant, Need guidance!!

Hi, my name is Nicole and I am signing up this week to become a consultant. I'm having a hard time deciding whether or not to sign up under the girl that introduced me to thirty-one. She is only in it for the money, doesn't offer a lot of guidance, and really isn't motivated to help me grow. I would feel bad looking for another consultant but I really want to go as far as I can with this and I don't think that's possible with her. I love thirty-one. I am so passionate about the products and message the company sends. I read things about thirty-one everyday and visit other consultants team websites and just get amazed, THAT'S WHAT I WANT I want to be part of a team, not under someone who doesn't care to help her team grow. I'm not quite sure what I should do.

Hi, Nicole! I totally understand your dilemma; my sponsor was also a new consultant and our director lives half way across the nation. There isn't much direct support right here. I would suggest just being honest with her. Is there something specific you aren't sure about? Are you just not sure that this business is right for you? The company has been growing by leaps and bounds, and there are many ways to get support...of course your sponsor is your first line, but there are many, many people in the company who want to see you succeed! I would love to help you out in any way I can...just let me know if there is anything I can do. Good luck!!!

I'm not thirty-one but you really need to have that connection with your upline....I didn't just sign up with a company I signed up with a team and a very supportive one at that. I have recruits ask me questions and just chat with me in general and if we get along then that just makes us a stronger team. Just be honest and do what you think is best, I'm sure you will go very far! Xo Good Luck!

Thanks ladies. I am torn because she introduced me to the company and i have hosted parties for her but she isn't very informative or supportive. I want to feel a connection with her, kind of like a mentor, but she just isn't helping me. I really would like to find a consultant that has a passion for the company and the products, not just making money. I would love to find one in KY or southern IN. If anyone knows of anybody in those areas, please email me. nicole.kraemer10@gmail.com thanks ladies

My recommendation is that you interview several potential uplines - letting each know that you are doing so. And then select the sponsor who will be the most supportive of your goals and who will be in it to help you achieve those goals. You need to do what you need to do that will make you successful. If it is not the person who introduced you to Thirty-One so be it, but be up front with her about what you are doing. Your sponsor is someone that you should have a great working relationship and who wants to see nothing but the best for you.

We posted at the same time. I would also recommend that you look outside your immediate area. Having someone local to you in order to be successful is not necessarily necessary. Once again it is that connection to the person and what they can offer you that should be the most important.

I agree. Interview a few reps until you feel a connection between you and she. Yours should be a close and long relationship. Good luck & can't wait to hear when you join! You won't be sorry! Thirty-One is ab fab!

Support and training are important whether you are local to your upline or if she is half way across the country. Many years ago, I signed up under someone local when I first started in Direct Sales with Southern Living at Home. That lady is a terrific friend but she was not a good upline. She didn't have any training in place and she actually quit the business within a few months. I basically just did it on my own until one of the higher ups in my upline saw that I was just plugging away on my own even though there was nobody active above me. She took me under her wing and was amazing. She lived several states away but I was able to jump in on her Conference calls each week and we met up at Conferences and such.

I truly believe that you need to be comfortable with who you sign up under. When you say your upline is in it for the money, do you mean that you feel she sees you just as a number and you don't feel she is there to support you in what YOU want to do with your business? Ultimately, your upline should be there to help you get what you want out of the business. Whether it is an extra $200 a month or if you want to make much more, or if you just want to stay involved because it is fun. Your upline should talk with you about what you want and then support you to get that.

Hope this helps!
Leanne
