I was also FL rater, worked 4weeks.
Last monday morning I got an email saying "your assignment with WFL will end."
Just like that.
I was wondering if I can reapply for English rater after 90days.
OMG! 4 weeks? What language did you rate? Seriously? I'm so sorry! I know it's a temp job, but still. That's just a lot to go through for them to let someone go after 4 weeks.

Now I'm freaked. I hope they're offering me the English. I still don't know since I applied for both and my test is next week. I REALLY wish I had never applied for the Spanish. This has me really bummed. I know it's just a temp job, but all that testing for 4 weeks work just seems like a lot.

Is there ANY US foreign language rater that has stayed for a long period of time? Anyone?

From what I have read on the board the US English raters are pretty safe. Don't be bummed. Just hold on and see what you are offered. You should hear something in the next couple of days.

I don't know if you consider it long, but I've been doing this since March and I rate in the Dutch language. The only problem I'm having is that there is hardly any work available. I believe for English raters there is always work...so yeah, I'd suggest people to apply for the English language.

I started as a quality rater with my first exam on 10/8/07. I thought my job would be ending tomorrow, but I still haven't received my notice email. Has this happened to anyone?

Tootie27- I might be wrong, but I think I've read they do it from your first day rating. Not the date of the first exam. Could be wrong though.

slamming- Thanks for your info!

Several posters on here have reported being let go from the test date, but others from when they started rating. I guess it's just luck?? I had to get an extension on my exam, so I hope I'm not let go on the original exam date.
From what I hear, sometimes you might just login and not have access. Others have been cut off in the middle of a task!
You do know you can draw unemployment, right?

Can't you only draw unemployment if you are paying into it while you are working?

I heard that any rating for European task locations was cut off because Google has full time employees to do that job at Europe.

I'm no unemployment expert, just going from experience of posters here. Several posters have been able to draw unemployment after their year was up. Hopefully, someone will be able to give you a better answer!
