I worked in an IT department for 12 years - A part of my job was researching via the Internet on computer products, etc. to be sold to our clients - I had to study the client environment and determine the best set up for them as far as computer systems, software, printers, etc. I also had to troubleshoot system problems hardware and software, etc. Do you think this experience is helpful?? Thanks!

Hopeful,

On time management, try to get the first part of the test completed as quickly as you can while still giving yourself time to research the answers and make sure that you've given it your best shot. Part II is by far the most time-consuming so you'll want ample time for it. Just keep in mind that to proceed to Part II you must first pass Part I.

I emailed my resume on the 20th of June. I just wish that I could get some kind of answer. I guess I'm starting to get very impatient. For the ones who were hired, how long did it take before you heard back from them?

Nah, once you get the hang of it, the work is simple. It can get tedious. But is something you can do while watching tv and there are no set hours so you can work whenever you want. When I started, the minimum was 10 hours a week. Other people I know who work for G do the 10 or a little more, I try to work up to 40. Working right now.

I know that G has been on vacation since Friday. Regular hours tomorrow.

The batch that was hired with me was told minimum of 10 hours and maximum of 20 hours per week right now. They said we may be issued some projects that make us work longer - up to 30 hours, but that would be rare and it would never be 40 hours. So they must have different rules for new workers.

Sounds like it. After I was hired, I told some co-workers about it. When they were hired, the rules had changed to what you noted. I noticed that the job listing on G is for 'part-time' now. I have been working 40 hours a week for a couple months now. I always worked the max allowed and I think that is why they offered me the full 40 hours. I am also very consistent on when I work and how long. Not that you would find that in writing anywhere, but from what I am hearing from other people, G has a lot of unspoken rules.

*groan* I'm ready to give up! I've applied twice, have all of the qualifications, an armload of experience and references galore. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why I'm not gettin any response!

I was hired about a month ago and told 10 hrs minimum, 20 maximum. During my second week of working with them, they sent out a global e-mail that said they were raising the max to 40 on a temporary basis. Shortly after that, I received another e-mail about applying for a 3-month position with them working 40 hours per week. I think their needs just fluctuate and you'll never know anything for sure except that you're guaranteed the 10 hours.
