kying418, I definitely would not do that. You have to get an email stating you can work over the max of 20 hours, you can't do the work and see what they say. They will NOT pay you forthe extra hoursandyou may be risking your jobif you don't follow their directions.
To clarify since it's been discussed: the maximum number of hours to work at Google is 20 hours a week. Some groups of raters - using whatever guidelines, we don't know- arechosen to work fulltime for a period. Those raters are notifiedto do this. It's an exception not a rule! When you sign up for Google you're not guaranteed 40 hours, you're only guaranteed 20. Unless instructed otherwise follow Google's guidelinesthat they give you when you start. Those of us working fulltime are only doing so because we've been specially instructed to. |

Thanks MarryAnna- I will just work the 20 hours until further notified. For some reason, I thought I read that it was raised to 40. |

After a couple of weeks you may just get an email saying you can work the 40 hours! Just be patient. The pay is so good that part-time is still the equivalent of a fulltime minimum wage job.

It might be worth emailing them to ask; maybe you read it in an email notification from them! And if not, maybe they'll give you permission to do 40

Firstly Congrats on passing the tests and beginning as a QR. That was very nice of you to come and help others out. I agree with oakling, Maybe you should email wfl , if you would be allowed to work for 40 hours if there is work available, never hurts to email them ..since you have the time.Good luck. Zatie |

I am so disappointed... I didn't pass the 2:nd part of the exam. I wonder if it would be a waste of time to apply again maybe in 6 months or so?? Good luck everybody. Kerstin ![]() ![]()

We're actually not guaranteed 20 hour/week. We're not guaranteed any work at all. The default maximum is 20.If you receive an email saying you may work more, the new maximum is in effect until you receive an email that statesotherwise. My direct deposit never went through.I was told it would start after the third check. The fourth check came in the mail, as has every subsequent check. They're always on time, though. Occasionally one will arrive on Saturday (I'm in PA), but Monday is typical. It's never been later than Monday. And the amount has always been correct. I'm averaging about 6 SxS. Unless it's clearly not necessary to check everything, I do. A little feedback now and the, perhaps coinciding with the report cards, would be nice -- just a line or two stating specifically what's right and what's wrong. |
