Unhappy Need some help...

Hi everyone

I am a SAHM to two kids (4 and 1) and also do cyber pre-k with my son (basically homeschooling). I'm trying to find something to do to earn a little extra money for us which would go towards some extra debt reduction when any money would come in. But I just don't know where to start...what to look for...etc. I know phone stuff is out for me. I have signed up with key for cash, but haven't gotten contact yet. Do some surveys but they don't really amount to anything. And started doing toneaday.com, which is random money from what I've read. I've considered looking into trying to sell thirty-one things, but not sure if the whole party-thing is for me. Thought about looking into some of the craft things, but I know most of those either don't pay or are scams. I just don't know what direction to even look in for a small at home job. Any suggestions? I would love to hear any that any of you have. I hope this makes sense and all. Even some pointers to help me figure out like what industry (I guess you could say) to even look at.

My full time job is my kids and stay at home mom responsibilities, so this would just be something part time I can do when I have time do to.

Thanks!

Hi, There are a lot of jobs out there..but I know it can be frusterating when you are first looking for something. Just keep applying ..something will come along that is right for you. Also, if you do decide to go the home business route...there are a lot of businesses that dont require you to have home parties and stuff like that. If you look on the "advertise your business " section you can find a lot of different ones to choose from.

becken127,

I agree with malea.

Lots of positions are listed in this section of the forum and new ones are added every day.

Most positions seem to be customer service related. Do you have any past experience working with people/customers?

Good luck and I hope you find something soon.

Most work at home jobs are customer service phone jobs, but there are some that you could try like Lionbridge and Leapforce (Google Rater) that can be done online. You could also try writing work if you like to write. A lot of home businesses now only require a small amount to get started, so this could be an option too, however it can take some time to build up to the income you would like. Most people who work from home that don't do customer service work (and even alot that do) like to have several things going on at once. For instance you could do surveys, KeyForCash and a home business or some combination like that to add up to making the amount you would like to make. There is no need to just stick to one thing, do several at a time to make it all work. I hope that makes sense and helps a little. Also just wanted to add that with surveys you should sign up for as many companies as you can (legitimate ones) and you will make more money. I belong to alot of survey companies and I get alot of surveys sent to me everday, and it really does add up - every little bit counts.

Writing might be a good fit for you. You can find clients and take on projects as you find the time to get them done. I did this when my daughter was really young. Worked well when she was napping.

In addition to that, you could look into blogging about mommy experiences. This takes a bit to build up but can be fun and make you some money.

If you have a specific crafting skill, such as crocheting or knitting, you could sell items at local craft fairs or on Etsy. General transcription is something that you can break into without specific formal training. (And all of the companies that hire for this are not necessarily covered here under the transcription folder, so do a Google search.)

Possibly check the websites of specific companies you think you might be interested in working for and see if they offer remote positions. Maybe canvas local business on foot and offer your services (whatever you might want to offer- writing, web design, etc.)

Possibly personal errand type services in your area or through TaskRabbit if it's offered in your area.

Writing would be an excellent choice for you, if that's something you'd like. I just wanted to add that some direct sales businesses (such as Thirty One) can be done online. I just started with Jamberry Nails, and am starting to see some success. Check the Thirty One folder and see what the consultants have to say!!

Hi becken you are in the right place as this is the best forum in my opinion, and the people here are great.
The best thing to do here is read the folders and follow this forum. Sometimes you have to have several small eggs in your basket. By this I mean several small jobs. It you have no experience in writing, then start out at Textbroker as they take beginners. The pay is low, but I worked it enough to keep my head above the water, plus did surveys, and other things. Finally through this forum I found my bigger egg. But I would not have been able to do this without this forum. Good luck to you.
