I applied to a position and they asked me to run a PCPitstop check on my computer. I received an email saying that there software was not compatible with Windows 7 SP1 and asked me to remove SP1 to continue with the application process/consideration for employment.
I don't feel comfortable removing a service pack that is part of the OS. Has anyone else run into this? What did you do? |

Personally, I've never been asked to remove a service pack. If anything, I had to upgrade to a newer service pack for program compatibility.

The company is a legit company but here is my problem. They state clearly on all paperwork and their website that they are compatible with Windows 7. Windows 7 only has one SP. So you need me to remove a service pack for an OS you state you are compatible with? Yeah I am passing on it. I'm not removing a service pack for my OS. Update it sure but remove it? Roll back to XP? Um...no.

Here is a link to what updates are in the SP1 if you want to know what you would be removing. Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) Good luck. |

I would only consider removing the service pack if I was guaranteed and offered employment (my opinion).
