I ran across a new program yesterday called my sales dialer, it is an app for androids that will allow the same type of call center type software on android phones..i thought it was pretty cool if more companies would pick it up, it might be the wave of the future in virtual call center work. There are quite a few telemarketing companies that dont require landlines but for inbound work the software on the market generaly requires a land line to route calls to.

Arise has chat positions that don't require a phone line at all. But Arise has a lot of start up costs because you are an independent contractor and not an employee.

With arise you need to incorporate as a business unless you work under another company. Real IC or employee positions do not require any type of fees. The only thing you should ever be paying for as an IC is your own expenses.

Thank you very much =)!
I wanted to share the company that I work with, I only have a cell phone and it works just great. They also encourage the use of Skype and Google Messenger as well. Just about any form of communication works well with the business.

Not all customer service jobs, but most do require it. As another poster mention, you should always invest in a landline. Most companies that do require a phone do not want you to have any features on the phone anyway. So their really cheap when you don't have features. I only pay $13 per month for mine.
