Hello There!
Fire away! You are welcome to join in at any time! I was just spreading the word about the Social Security Return to Work program called Ticket to Work. I work for Employment Options and we are Certified Employment Network that helps those on disability with SSDI or SSI benefits get back to work and learn about the Ticket to work program.

We are a virtual and national company and are recruiting for hundreds of work at home positions for customer service and tech support with national work at home companies. If you or someone you know is on S SDI or SSI benefits and loves to help people and has customer service related experience and a home computer, they can apply on our website: For Job Seekers | My Employment Options

If you are not on SSDI or SSI benefits, we would not be able to help you directly but we would love to share resources with you.

You can email our help center at help@myemploymentoptions.com and an automatic list will be sent to you of job resources and websites that we endorse. You can also check out our important links and partner’s webpage : My Employment Options | Important Links and Resources | My Employment Options

Please let me know here if you have any questions at all or you can email me directly at ladler@myemploymentoptions.com

Best wishes!

For those reading and needing services another great site is Virtual Call Center and Contact Center, Work-at-Home Jobs | NTI as they are a staffing firm for disabled persons needing telecommuting/work-at-home positions.

Thank you for your comment too! I am more than happy to share all the information that I have to help others.

I do want to point out something from Andrea's post about NTI. NTI is another employment network in the Social security ticket to work program. However, at a recent meeting, I was informed that they are no longer going to be doing business and no longer will be an employment network! This is what we were told so I felt it necessary to pass this along.

NTI was a huge employment network and one that I as a client myself tried to find work with and was gravely disappointed but that is just my personal experience. Employment Options is very small private company with less than 20 employees but we all have a strong passion and desire to help those on social security reach self-sufficiency and independence. Many of us at Employment Options are in Ticket to work ourselves or have been in the past so we understand the fears and emotions that go with it all!

If anyone has any more questions, please feel free to keep posting here. It seems the email notifications are updating me properly now! Also, our President recently wrote a blog for Disability.gov about Ticket to Work and explains it in great detail. I think that might be helpful for some of you to check out. It is very specific and defines the states, requirements, goals, etc.!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday week!

Hi Lori,
Your story was very moving. I'm new to this forum but not to WAHM. I just happened to check it out. My sister's name is Lori and she spells it that way, too.
And I'm in Indiana!
I have a friend who might be interested in your information and I will pass it on.
Thanks very much for sharing your story.
Blessings,
Sue

Thumbs up

Thank you so much for your post and story. I am currently receiving Social Security disability due to migraines. I would LOVE to be able to find something I could do from home. However I find it difficult because it is hard for me to commit to a set schedule. When I get a day (or 2) with a migraine I am unable to function and therefore it makes me appear unreliable. I lost my last job due to attendance issues from my migraines and that is how I ended up on disability. I would love to find something I could do from home but that I could put in my hours when it works for me as long as I put it so many in a certain amount of time. I know this is a lot to ask of a company but I am sure there has got to be some data entry or something out there like this. I have just not found a legit one yet that is willing to take a chance on me. I have not given up though...I will continue to look and keep an open mind about other jobs as well. Again thank you for your post as I will be looking more into the ticket to work program.

Hi there,

I am glad the post was helpful to you. I am sorry to hear about your migraines. I don’t get them very much or in full strength but they are miserable and I am sorry that you have to go thought that. Ticket to Work is an excellent program to help those of us on SSDI/SSI to 'try to return to work and move toward more independence.

We do have work at home customer service jobs and tech support jobs. We partner with over 20 different national companies who love to hire our clients. Unfornatley, most require some sort of set schedule or picking a shift. It is hard to find jobs with us and our program that do not require a set schedule. Because of the nature of the job. Many companies call centers are open 24 hours a day so they need coverage. I don’t know if you have healthcare background at all. We did just post several new positions for healthcare related jobs for nursing, wellness coaching and more. They are different than our standard customer service positions.
We do have a question on the application that asks if you can sit for so many hours or a period of time. We have to ask that because it is a requirement for our partner employers. However, Ticket to Work is full of hundreds of networks like us or other agencies to help people find the job that is best for them. So just in case our positions end up not being a good fit, don't give up and keep doing your research and find other agencies. It is much better to utilize ticket to work to return to work than finding work on your own. When you use Ticket to work and assign your Ticket to an EN like us or another agency, you are protected by the guidelines of the program and if you are meeting certain goals, you are even exempt from regular medical reviews and if ever there were any issues, an employment network would be there to help you and explain what you have been doing on your behalf.

I don’t believe we have any work at home jobs where you can set your own schedule. Those are few and far between. Not saying they are not there but just didn't want you to apply with us and be disappointed or caught off guard.

Here is the link to our jobs to give you an idea of the types of jobs and openings we have right now. We have 1,000's of open positions we are trying to fill. But this type of work is not for everyone depending on their situation and work history.
Work at Home Job Openings | My Employment Options | My Employment Options
If you would like to talk to someone in more depth about what might be best for you or you have more specific questions about Ticket to work, you can email my supervisor and our senior job placement specialist, Ray Morrison. He is super nice and down to earth. He helped me a lot when I was just starting in ticket to work! rmorrison@myemploymentoptions.com or 800-441-3114 ext. 755. Just tell him you met me on one of the work at home boards and you were not sure if applying with us is the right move with your migraines. He works directly with clients and knows all about the jobs and things and might be able to help you more. He has a long history in helping people find work in all sorts of areas.

Best of luck!
LORI ADLER
