Default Keyword Proofreader for Info.com

**WE ARE NO LONGER HIRING OR ACCEPTING RESUMES. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST**

Info.com, a 10-year-old meta-search engine, is looking for as many as 65 additional part-time contractor positions to help with an ongoing keyword project. This telecommuting work is ideal for tenacious and meticulous editors who have an eye for detail, excellent logic and language skills, do not mind repetitive work, and who want to supplement their regular income. These positions will work from home.

Job Description:
As an approved keyword proofreader working for Info.com, you will audit keyword lists to identify any keywords not relevant to a given subject category, thereby improving the accuracy of the data. All work done for Info.com will be through a custom web interface with your own login details. In order to work as a keyword proofreader, you’ll need a computer with reliable internet access and you should be fairly comfortable working with large data sets and spreadsheet-like layouts. Before beginning regular work, successful applicants will complete 2.5 hours of self-guided, offline training, and be compensated with an account credit of $20. Applicants must be over current legal age and residents of the US or Canada.

Compensation and Hours:
Info.com keyword proofreaders may be provided with up to 30 hours a week worth of project work, at a pay rate of $45.00 per 10,000 keywords verified. A competent keyword proofreader can verify approximately 2,000 keywords per hour, the equivalent of earning $9.00/hr. Proofreaders will be paid weekly, provided their unpaid earnings exceed $50. Proofreaders should be able to commit to verifying at least 24,000 keywords per week (approx 12 hrs work).

These positions are scheduled to commence March 2011 and work is projected to last for approximately four months, through June 2011. These positions are not committed to work for any length of time and the scope and inventory of the project may change at any time. Info.com reserves the right to pause or cancel the project with no notice.

If you are interested in working as a keyword proofreader, please send a resume and a brief cover letter outlining your qualifications to XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.

Please note: Info.com reserves the right to seek, at no cost to you, background and reference checks.

I have been working as a KP since October. I love it and they always pay on time!

I've been working for them for a few weeks now. They pay on time and the work isn't difficult at all. However, it is very time consuming and can be tedious at times.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by "time consuming?" Do you mean they give you more workload than you want? Or that it takes you longer to get through the amount of work they consider equivalent to an hour?
I'm set to start soon. From the test and training so far, I get the sense that I can make the minimum hourly without killing myself, although I can see how it would be tedious, but then again, almost every sah job I've had (with the exception of writing), eventually becomes tedious.
