I agree. You have to be determined and keep at it to find a work at home position. And make yourself stand out from the many others that apply.

Hi! I'm just starting out and not making very much! While trying to complete MT course, I just started with Quicktate, doing transcription. I'v applied to Key For Cash, did the test, and waiting for email to say if I am hired or not. I also applied to Call Graph and I'm waiting for the test to take. I'm also going to sign up for MTurk. With a baby, and trying to complete my course, I need a job that I can work as many or little hours as I want, at any time I want. No schedule. And, these are lowing paying jobs, but meet my needs!!

It is tough! But, this site helps a lot because you know what jobs are legit or not... what jobs/companies are worth checking out or not.

Pick a field or business you want to work in, find some people that are already doing it, and ask them about it! Everyone here is so nice and helpful!

I think the first, and most important question you want to ask yourself is "Do you want a WAH business or a WAH job?" And, if you want a business, "Do you want your own business, or an MLM type of business?".

Then, based on these questions, go check out some of the boards here!

Good luck!
Janis

I work from home as a general transcriptionist. It's very flexible, and the money is good, if you're a fast typist. But I'm also looking into other avenues of making money online.

There is soooo much money to be made online (and offline), but it's not easy. In everything you do, even if it's something you LOVE, it is WORK.

I also agree with Janis. Find out what you want to do. Really dig deep.

Unless a miracle happens, no matter what you do online, it will take time to build up the monthly income you desire.

But look at it this way...if you are paying your credit cards from your job salary or other income coming into your household, but now your online business is covering that, is it worth it? And then it goes on to pay your credit card and another utility bill in your home, freeing up your main account? For me, it's totally worth it!

It's very imperative to plan, and take baby steps, and start with short term goals, and build up until you are where you want to be.

There are some folks that say to do what you love...and that isn't always true. Did you know that sometimes the biggest money maker is a specific niche, that is in demand, but may be something you TOTALLY did not see yourself doing? Think about that....I say all that to say... lol

I have been in MLM and successful, but I recently started selling on ebay, at first just to generate an additional stream of income. It started as 'small change' but by trial and error, trying different things to sell, and on a mission, found a niche that has made me take a SERIOUS look at that particular niche b/c I started generating sales DAILY.

Offline, I know a lady who makes a killing charging people for swimming lessons, but can't swim herself LOL but she saw the need in that market and now makes great money.

Try selling on eBay - maybe use it as a starting point and if you see you enjoy that then consider opening your own store (eBay has these fees that add up quick - I don't like that at all), and make the most of your income.

I work for a couple different places. All of it is free, I NEVER pay money to make money. It's not worth the risk. I have a link my Siggy you might want to check out. Lots of free ideas!

I don't mind doing phone work like 'customer service' but it wouldn't be my first option. I always hated working in a call centre and besides I have applied SOOO many times much at live opps etc.. but I have not had any sucess so I gave up.

Hi Cindy,

Welcome to the forum!

Just let you know that GPT related discussions are not allowed (you can visit cashcrate.com - they have an open forum where you can learn a lot about GPTs).

For work at home jobs opporutnites, previous posters have great suggestions, I also suggest you check out this folder and folders under service businesses, there are many legit work at home job leads posted here and great information about various work at home options.

Good luck to you!
