Default Anyone work for terescription.com-Need help please!

Hello,
I'm new to the forum, but I'm wondering if anyone can help me with this. My sample was approved for terescription.com, and my account was activated last Wednesday. I'm ready to do work, but I don't know if I have to wait for the trainer to contact me about an assignment to do because it states that you have to do the first two assignments under the direction of the trainer, or should I just sign out an assignment and do it? I e-mailed the trainer last Wednesday, but he hasn't gotten back to me-I don't want to bug him-I'm sure he's super busy. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!!

I don't work for them, but I think it's best that you wait for your trainer to contact you regarding work.

Thanks,
that's what I heard too. So, you were activated also, but just have not been contacted to start your first assignment, right?

I was contacted about a month or so ago stating the March/April jobs that are suppose to be coming. I haven't heard anything since then.

I'm not familiar with the company, but is there an email address where you can send your questions?

Default thanks

OK, looks like between this thread and another on Terescription, that makes sense why I'm having trouble with the software. I had it all downloaded including the sample and I was trying to work on it but at the time ( a month or so ago) I just had waaaay too many interruptions to even think about sitting down to complete that test. And yes, I had plenty of glitches so it was an adventure even trying to get about 1/2 of the sample transcribed. It took me 3 weeks to get that far and I asked to back out including uninstalling that software and sample. Well, my household has changed and I thought to try to get this going again and come to find out there might not be enough work +. Looks like people trying to reinstall are having problems.

Smile Just Wondering

Hi. I actually got hired with Terescription back in March but forgot to send in one of the the contract forms. So I sent it too him and then I never heard back. I sent a confirmation email to the person and haven't heard back which is unusual because in the past I've always received some sort of response. Can anyone suggest what I should do next? Thanks in advance for any help.

Meika

I work for them and have been activated. Joe is pretty busy and he doesn't always get back to you. You'll just have to email him again or get him on yahoo, but come to think of it, he hasn't been on there either. You can always email Tom the owner.

Some cons are their software can be a pain to install. I passed in January and didn't get activated until March and then I had to uninstall and re-install their software.

A rule of thumb when testing for any transcription company is the actual transcription test shouldn't really be any longer then 5 or 10 minutes. Their test file is an hour long. And I know that is to weed out the wannabe's, but I really think 15 min would have been absolutely fine.

I finally did try to take a file back in March. I couldn't see how long it was and I knew I wanted a short file because I never know when I'll get called to teach or drive. Well the file was 45 min long and I had gotten 15 min of it done and then my circumstances changed. I let them know that I would not be able to meet the TAT (in plenty of time, of course) and so was told to get it reassigned to someone else. Which I did. I also let them know that I was more than willing to pass on the work that I had already done to the next person and they could take credit for the whole thing, but they don't work that way. The next person had to start from scratch.

And I'm sorry, but I just don't agree with that. I think people within a company need to work together and be teammates and help each other out when needed. But again, that is just my opinion.

However I am fortunate to work for some other companies that do promote teamwork in a friendly atmosphere and help thru the company or team mates is always available.

From what I understand they have seasonal work. I get a status email from them every hour, 24/7 and right now they have some files available. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't.

Hope that helps.
