Thats what I explained in the original post. Your address will be used for local marketing. Again, many people have worked for places like Hausernet or US Monitor where they get junk mail and enter it into their system... I figured it's kind of the same thing but you don't have to enter it into a system. You just get a flat pay every month.

I personally have not received anything in the mail, nor any phone calls. I used a free voicemail box, so if they do call, it will go to that voice mail box and not my house number. I posted the link to the free voicemail box in a previous post.

I think the volume of the local marketing thing depends on your area. Like I stated, I haven't gotten anything.. but who knows... I don't necessarily think your address is "posted" anywhere. I believe it's just used for presenting services thats available in your area.

If you use the free voicemail box you won't get any calls. Worst case scenerio is that you will get junk mail...to me that's no big deal.. I can just throw it away. If you are the type of person who just dislikes junk mail, then maybe it's not for you... but personally I don't care about junk mail.. when I get it, I just chunk it.

Before I enrolled in this, I got junk mail all the time and I just chunk it....but for each his own. Some people don't like junk mail, but as long I don't get any telemarketing calls, I'm fine.

Well darn I wasn't qualified anyway! After I filled all that info out my computer started going crazy though. Kind of scared me that I got a virus or something, but I restarted my computer and it seems fine

Thanks for clearing it up!! I don't mind getting junk mail, because like you said, I just toss it. I was just afraid that my home address would be posted everywhere and I didn't want that.

Now does anyone know this question. If their going to be sending us $10 or $15 a month or whatever it is, does that mean we'll be getting a 1099 at the end of the year?

I am, in no way, shape, or form, a tax advisor, or anything of that nature. But it is my understanding that you need to make over $600 before you have to pay taxes on your income. I think I have also seen the same sort of info on some sites stating that if you make over $600, they will send you a 1099 at the end of the year.

july ayers is correct. You must get $600 or more. Neither one is enough to receive a 1099.

The are only required to send you a 1099 if you earn over $600, but per IRS guidelines you are supposed to report any and all income as an IC. That being said I have no idea how when or where they would know what you have earned any other income other than that which is reported to them in the form of a 1099.
