Question Microworkers and Mturk, Anyone working for them

Ive been looking for a job all this year and have not found anything. Like everyone else bills are pilling up and getting harder and harder. Full time student with an 18 months old, unable to get anytype of assistance. I sign up for microworker and mturk, and I wanted to know anyone experience with them? Pay and so forth. Ive applied for a lot of these leads posted here, no one is calling back. Getting desperate might even try Absoultesss to see if that would would work (yikes) !!! Any suggestions would help. Thanks guys!

You could try writing for AC or ehow or another writing site. You wouldn't earn tons of money for a few days or weeks but that all depends on what you write about anyway. You could start blogging, but that also takes some times to build an audience to earn views and money-I'm in that boat myself. You could try one of the ptc sites, but I only think those are worth while if someone goes through you as a referral doubling or tripling the amount you would otherwise earn. I went through someone last night. Lots of us have links you could go through if you are interested in that. There's a lot of different things you can do. Good luck, it is tough.

Cynthia, there are a lot of options available, Mestillaqt is right - check a few blogs and sites for inspiration!

GPTs aren't bad, but they take a while to accumulate. Surveys can be great, but they also require some patience.

I've tinkered with Mturk a bit and I think it has potential but I haven't set any real time into it. Some of the tasks take a while to process which is quite annoying, others will process almost instantly.

How much are you actually looking to earn? That's the key question. Right now I'm using an assortment of programs to meet my earning goals, but I'm taking it in baby steps. $200 for October (successful!), $300 for November, $400 for December - and after that I'm not sure. I figure I'll decide about the new year when it's closer.

Are you trying to pay your rent with WAHJs or just supplement your families income?

I don't mean to pry either, but as a full time student with a child I'm not sure why you wouldn't be able to get any assistance, is it purely because you're unemployed or something else? If you prefer to PM me or to just ignore that query you're more than welcome to btw. It seems like you should be a prime candidate for assistance though. When I was working for @lpine @ccess, single, and a mother I qualified for food assistance/WIC. It wasn't much, but it was a huge help none the less.

I know TANF is typically for the completely incomeless, or at least that's what I was told when I was rejected (which made me a bit angry since I was being punished for having a job, even when it didn't meet my needs). What have you tried?

The trick is to do a little bit of everything to make things work for you, dont ignore doing surveys because you think it pays too little or you are not getting enough. Start a blog, which for me was the best thing I have ever done, you can always make money with that even if it is just a few dollars here and there. Sign up to sites where you get paid to write, and write an article here and there. Time is money, make your time online useful, I say look at all the folders here, see whats out there, join other forums and see what might not be posted here in this forum. Good luck!

Default Mturks

I just signed up for Microworkers and haven't heard anything yet but I done some work on Mturks and I really like it. If you are a good writer, you can really earn on there, although there is a wide array of things to do. I have used my earnings on Mturk to purchase things on Amazon, and have even had my earnings transfered to my paypal. I highly recommend it.

Default mturk

To answer your question, I very rarely do work for mturk. The work is easy but I have found that a lot of the jobs do not pay wel but it is nice to have for a little bit of extra dough. I don't think anyone could live off of working for microworkers or mturk alone but anyone is welcome to correct me if I'm wrong. The way I see it is that every penny counts so I only do it if I have some spare time (which like I said is rare). They pay with amazon bucks meaning you can use your earnings with mturk to buy stuff from amazon.com. If I'm not mistaken you also have the option of transferring your earnings to your bank account.
Like others have said, you could also try writing for sites or even doing online surveys. Good luck.

i was just curious I do surveys at the moment which is making me some money but not alot and I recently came upon mturk, I was just wondering if there is anyone that does mturk on a daily basis and if so how much do you make in a day or in a month? i know this is not big money doing this but I kinda like the work on mturk and with a very active 7 month old it seems to be working for me. But I do not want to get so involved if it does not add up or they do not pay.

you may want to join one of the mturk forums for tips etc. I know turker nation(i believe) has a hall of shame/fame...people post about good or bad requestors. some who pay and approve and others who take long time to approve, don't answer emails or don't pay etc. I have been doing this a little here and there. So far I have made $37 with some more pending...but I've only invested a few hours into it...Also when you find a hit you can do easily, click the box that says automatically accept next hit. It saves loading time. If you can do hits quickly it all adds up to more $ for you
