Cloud Crowd can be a great second income once you are in the system and really understand how it works.
I would encourage any new comers to read all the information and style guides well before even attempting the tests or any tasks. Go to the support forum a browse through some of the issues and comments. If you are unsure about a particular task skip it and do the ones you know really well. Even if they pay less it will help to boost your credibility rating. There is plenty work write now for writers so if you don't see work then you may not have taken the credential tests.

or at least it is very likely. I've taken their test twice in order to get a translator credential, every time a different one, always rejected. They give very ambiguous reasons for the rejection. Translators should be aware of Clowdcrowd. They usually post their quest for translators in sites such as proz.com. I think that their strategy is to get as many professional translators as possible taking its tests, every time a different one so they are getting translations for free. The authorities should be take action on this scam.

It was safe to use back when this thread first started. I don't know about now, I've been banned a long time now. They still send me money everyday though for the work my referrers have done.

I really wanted to do work with them. I really did. I took the writer credential and passed. Got my account put on probation and credibility dropped by 75% for one review error and now they wont approve any credential test I take. And there is no way to appeal a test. And I did the keyword research test. The keywords met every single criteria and guess what rejected, I even showed an SEO specialist my work and they were shocked. There is no work to do there without a credential and a credibility that's really high. I took the translation test for German, rejected, I speak German, I am sure their graders don't based on the comments they posted in the review.

Personally I think they are rejecting everything so they can get more work.. It is a really bad program the way its run right now.

The only job available for me there at this point is find quotes for 20 cents and you can only use their list of sites. It takes over 30 minutes for some of them. 40 cents an hour is not worth our time.
