Hi I found a work from home opportunity on Weekly Consumer. Not sure if it is real or not, anyone try this or give me ideas on how to tell?

Default Not Sure

I am not sure about all of this but I went to the site and you have to pay them $197 for the program, and it is like one of those websites where when you try to leave the page, it gives you one of those popups that says wait a minute.

I will not pursue this. Sounds like they are making money on us that are really looking for legit work at home opportunities.

I didn't read it all, but it sounds bad to me.

Even in the event that you weren't being charged to sign up, you'd still be responsible for ebay listing fees which can add up with no guaranteed sale.

Pop ups, voice ads, never ending pages with flashy writing are always a turn off for me.

Wow, that's a very high up front fee. If they truly had a demand for people to do this, why charge them so much? The application process would be free.

I don't think it's legit. I did a search and found some similar companies that were scams. Some people said that after signing up and being "certified", they were then expected to pay more money for a domain, supplies, etc. They each required the $197 start-up fee, too. So, it seems like the same scam, running under different names.

It would be nice if something like this were legit. But, if it was, they wouldn't have to charge people to get started and they wouldn't need to search for people to do the job. People would be lining up to do it to earn that kind of money!

"THE STORY DEPICTED ON THIS SITE AND THE PERSON DEPICTED IN THE STORY ARE NOT REAL. RATHER, THIS STORY IS BASED ON THE RESULTS THAT SOME PEOPLE WHO HAVE USED THESE PRODUCTS HAVE ACHIEVED. THE RESULTS PORTRAYED IN THE STORY AND IN THE COMMENTS ARE ILLUSTRATIVE, AND MAY NOT BE THE RESULTS THAT YOU ACHIEVE WITH THESE PRODUCTS. THIS PAGE RECEIVES COMPENSATION FOR CLICKS ON OR PURCHASE OF PRODUCTS FEATURED ON THIS SITE."

and

"These income examples are representative of some of the most successful participants in the program. Some individuals purchasing the program may make little or NO MONEY AT ALL. These claims are not a guarantee of your income, nor are they typical of average participants."

Found at the bottom of the page, in case you missed it.

One thing to remember is to always look for the word "advertisement". It's at the very top of the page on this. When it says advertisement, it's not for a job, it's for a business opp.

Default Totally Legit

I know how you feel, it's really hard to tell. But, there many that aren't legit but I certainly wouldn't join one that isn't.
