Reputaple commercial mail forwarding agency looking to hire few dependable individuals for a 'work from home'

Mail Assistant position who would be responsible for handling correspondence for our customers. Please email for more detailes.

This job will take about one hour daily, six days a week and is paid $300 biweekly. All correspondence would be sent

via regular USPS first class mail, so only those who have a legitimate
mailing address and a full control over residence's mail box

can apply. Having a scanner at home is highly desirable but not mandatory.

This is a real, 'what you read is what you get' position. No gimmicks of any kind!

Email for more info. What's in the ad isn't enough to go on. What kind of correspondence? Are there any financial transactions involved? What's the scanner for?

Why would a legitimate company need someone to forward their company mail through a private residence? Wouldn't they just mail their customers directly?

Now you know I had to send an email for more info! I'm sure it's either some type of scam or something not totally legal But I am curious. If I ever get a response I'll let ya know. Should be funny!

Hi, Jamie!Yes, a lot of people do copy and paste responses. Just remove any inappropriate information (personal contact information, etc.) before you post. I'm sure everyone would like to see the reply!

I am curious as to whether this is real or not as well. Here is the reply I got:
Hello,
Thank you for your interest in the Mail Assistant position.
Few words about our company - it is based in Europe, Luxembourg with a few facility centers throughout the Europe.
It is called Forward Luxembourg, our website is www.fwdlux.net
What we do is we provide mail forwarding Services for expatriates, international travelers and seasonal workers
from all over the world. As we are experiencing a growing demand for these services from a Unites States residents, we are
setting up a pilot project, dedicated to providing services to those people. If the project proves its viability within 6 months,
it will become permanent.
To bring the project to life we are looking to hire few people in the US who would help us with mail handling.
If you are hired your responsibilities would be as follows:

- Receiving mail at your residential address. (Mail will be in the form of envelopes only, no parcels. Mail will be addressed to
the individuals, whose names will be given to you in advance. You will be handling correspondence for 5-8 people.)

- Scanning the front side of every received envelope

- Emailing to me scanned images daily

- Shipping out accumulated mail biweekly (prepaid UPS postage label will be provided)

- Treating every piece of mail carefully

Paycheck will be sent every two weeks in the amount of $300.

If you are still interested in the job, to get started immediately just provide you complete mailing address and a scan of copy
of government issued ID (ID number can be blacked out).

Thank you,

Alex

I would be curious what is in these envelopes and like the above person said why they would send it to a residence to do this.
