Default What were your goals when you joined?

I was wondering about realistic goals that I should set for myself.

How long should it take to reach each consultant level?
What goals did you have for yourself when you joined?

I know each goal should be different, depending on the person (how many parties you can hold, or how much time you have to invest into your scentsy business) but I am just curious.

Also, to become a Lead Consultant, do you have to start a team?

Thanks!

When I started, my goal was to pay less than retail for my own personal use. I didn't work my biz the first year I started.

To be lead you need $500 personal retail sales in one calendar month, plus $1,000 cumulative group wholesale and 1 personal recruit who has at least $150 retail sales in the month you are wanting to qualify for that rank.

I'll admit I'm not good at setting goals & writing them down, but if you set short-term & long-term goals now & write them down & post them somewhere you will see them everyday (refrigerator, bathroom mirror, over your desk), you will work harder to achieve them & be successful. Like you said, each person is different & each person will have different goals & different lengths of time to achieve them, so you need to decide what you want to do for your business. Your short-term goals should be within reason & attainable within 1-3 months. With your long-term goals, push the boundaries a bit & really reach. Make yourself work for something that will take effort, but isn't impossible within your first year (like promoting to Director). Let us know what goals you set & we'll help cheer you on!

I started during a transition month and my goal was to just try it and see what happens. I was already a Director with another company but wanted something simpler.
Once I had a couple months in, I knew I wanted to be a Director with Scentsy! I think it took me 13 months and seemed like I was stuck at Star for soooo long!
What you do now and during the next few months will set you up for the busy season of Fall. Just be consistent with your business and the rest will fall into place. You can't expect things to just fall into your lap though, you have to keep pushing yourself. You can do it!

Wow! Thanks for sharing!
You must have been booking alot of homeparties!
Or were the majority basket parties?

I want to rank up as fast as possible, and I know that means me recruiting people to not only host parties, but also join my team - how did you motivate your friends? I have friends who love scentsy just as much as I do, but I'm not sure if they want to join or not. I wouldn't really know how to ask them without sounding pushy.

I did a pretty good mix of home & basket parties. Plus I did tons of events where I just set up my kit and used that to book parties and did not do cash & carry. And they were small craft show type of events and even a couple county fairs.
I have never had to ask anyone to join my team. Most of the hosts would email or call me after doing a couple parties and then realizing that they could do this too. Especially the ones who do way more than one or two parties.
If you focus on doing your home & basket parties you may get a few people who are interested in joining. Most people say (and I tend to agree with this) that once they got out of their circle of friends is when they saw the greater difference. But your family & friends are a great place to start. Keep working on that list of 100.
You can do this!

Thanks (: I won't ask anyone to join, I shouldn't have to.

But you did ask them to host, right?
I'm still working on my 100, After my first 50, it's people i don't really talk to. I think I'll just start with my close friends and family and go from there (:

I work in marketing and hospitality and collecting referrals is my job (for a timeshares resort) so i'm hoping that experience is really going to help me!

Do you do Referral Rewards?
Like, if you refer your friend, you get free product? I was trying to think of some things that I could possibly do.

Oh yes I asked them to host and if try didn't want to host, they ordered! Starting with your good friends is a great place to get bookings.
Referral rewards are great if you want to do them. I would rather use the booking reward and go for the bookings from parties. But referrals can also be a goldmine of new people.

I've decided the first goals I'm going to set for myself is to first shoot for the Star Enhancement Kit ($500 prv in 15 days) Buy the kit, and sell $300 in the remaining 15 days of the month. That way I will hit Lead Consultant.

I also want to shoot for level 2 in the 70-day Star Level Challenge.

I'm so excited, I had my mini testers at work, and was just picking out the ones that my co-worker mentioned he wanted to smell, and I had 3 people walk in, and before I know it, everyone in my office is smelling all the testers and talking about Scentsy! I've never seen a product that sells itself like this. I'm glad, because I'm not a sales-y type.
