Is it reasonable to believe that someone joining Scentsy today could eventually reach Star or Superstar Director? Or are those levels really only being achieved by people who started with the company at the beginning/a few years after Scentsy was established? I know that new people are coming on all the time, so I'm not as concerned about building a team as I am about getting the sales. I mean, how many warmers does one customer actually need? And the warmers are your big ticket items. Interested in getting your honest thoughts for those of us considering your opportunity and wanting to go far in the company. Thanks!

I started in October and my 5 year goal is to reach Star Director. I believe it CAN be done! It may be a little more difficult for those of us starting a few years into the company - however, I have a friend (well, my sisters friend and director) who sells mary kay and made director a few years after she started - and that company has a pretty long history. So even though you may think you can not do it, it can be done - and those of us, including you, who truely believe it and work our business to the best of our ability WILL make it to wherever we want to be! The company is still young!!!

It may not necessarily be for them. Customers buy warmers as gifts, or, to match their decor, for their office, etc. They also buy wax, Scentsy buddies, Fragrance Foam, Scent Circle, etc. We have some repeat customers, and we continue to acquire new ones. For instance, when someone buys a house, they may live in it for a long time, or for a short time. However, Realtors don't close shop because everyone has a house. They keep looking for new clients. A car dealership is open daily, it doesn't matter that they may have sold a million cars. The same applies to Scentsy. Every day someone moves into a new house and wants our wax and warmers, or, they are worried about using regular candles and decide to switch to a safe alternative, like I did. Our business is to find those people and show them why Scentsy makes "perfect scents" :-). Best wishes.

If you want it to happen, set goals and achieve them! It is possible still today because people know what Scentsy is.

Yes! It is very possible! I didn't start with Scentsy until 2008 and I am at Star Director level now. You just have to keep your mind focused on Scentsy and it will happen! Share Scentsy with everyone you come in contact with and the sales and recruits will come!!!

It is absolutely reasonable! Mulitple people are achieving those titles each month & Scentsy isn't slowing down anytime soon. We are growing constantly. However, you said you weren't interested in building a team. You must have a good balance of recruiting & sales to promote within Scentsy. I am constantly amazed at my customers who keep ordering more & more. People will want warmers for every room. They give them for every gift. And Scentsy is consumable so they keep coming back for more & different scents, not to mention new products that we introduce like the buddies & the perfume. Like any business, you have to work at it, but you can absolutely achieve Star & SuperStar Director!
PS. Angie, scoot up your radar for Star. It will happen quicker than 5 years!

It absolutely can be done but it takes building relationships and consistency, especially online. Unless you have a lot of money to invest in advertising, hitting that level with the intention of only doing things on line will not be easy at all and will take quite a bit of time. You need to invest in ads, websites, urls etc.
The best advice is to not put all your eggs in one basket. Book shows, events, do fundraisers and do online sales. This will keep your investment down and your sales skyrocketing. |

I think anything is possible but it does take work. It helps to set short term goals that are reachable and go from there because when you look at the numbers to make director it can be overwhelming. Focus on building a good business by building your customer base and giving them great service. I give all of my customers a free sample of scent of the month in all their orders so they will have a reason to order again from me. Once you have set your short term goals you can then look more long term and it wont seem so overwhelming because you have broken it down into smaller goals.
As for customers only buying a few warmers, In my case I have found that you will find your core customers buying warmers not only for themselves but for gifts too and seasonal warmers too! One of my customers has actually bought 7 warmers off me in 6 months!! Hope this helps!
