Default I want to join!!!

Hi, my name is Barbie. I have been looking into Scentsy for the past few days and I would like to join. But I'm curious to know how many reps are already in my area, and would it make a difference to me if they were saturated here? I have seen someone selling in her front yard, I have seen cars around town with the scentsy signs on them. I read online that you can actually find out how many reps there are in any given area. I am in Bakersfield, California. Does anyone know about my area?

I am also wondering who I should sign up under? I really don't think it would be necessary to have a sponsor in my town, would you agree?

Just to let you all know more about me, I am 33 yrs old, stay at home mom of 4. I LOVE candles! LOL For me, I would probably like to work this business mainly online, or the basket thing is interesting to me, (for as much as I know about it anyways). I'm not really keen on throwing parties to sell stuff, but that might change later, IDK. So any advice would be great! Thanks.

Hi Barbie
That is great that you see the potential we as Scentsy consultants have
and congrats on your decision to join. I am not certain of the amount of reps in your area but that really doesn't matter. ALOT of those are not active in running a business alot are just in for friends and family and while that is okay reps like you and I are in it to build and grow a wonderful business. I would love to discuss this further with you. Please shoot me a pm and we can chat some more. And oh yeah, it is definetly not necessary to have a local sponsor. With the system Scentsy has in place and all of trainings we can have teammates and sponsors all over the globe. I do most of my biz right online and it is easy to promote Scentsy.

Hi Barbie. The beauty of Scentsy is that you there really isn't saturation. I remember Orville telling us a story of a street in Utah where 3 different consultants live. They all found their own way to market & build their businesses & they all promoted to Director within a couple months of each other. There are so many ways to sell & recruit that you can taylor it to best suite your needs & even if your next door neighbor is selling, there is always another way to work it so that you're successful. Basically, anyone that is dedicated to the business will be successful.

We can't see how many consultants are per city, but according to the most recent newsletter, there were 8728 consultants in all of CA. That's not many when you look at the total population.

As for your sponsor, do your research, talk to people & find the person you have the best connection with & the person you feel is going to help you the most. All the ladies here are great! Best of luck in your new business!

Hi Barbie,

As others have said, the raw numbers won't tell you much, especially now that all that is required to remain a consultant is to sell $1 anytime between July 1 - Dec. 31 of each year. So the numbers of actual consultants vs. business builders could be worlds apart.

Some areas are more mature than others, but there will always be more leads and untapped markets than all the consultants combined could ever cover. If you're looking in your specific area you can also go to scentsy.com then click on the FIND A CONSULTANT in the upper right corner (immediately below the Inc. 500 image). Based on the address you enter, it will give you the five closest consultants who are ranked certified or higher and who have a subscription to a Scentsy website.

Again, this won't give you an accurate picture of the current situation in your geographic area, but will return some of the consultants and their websites, then you'll also be able to see on their websites their rankings which could give you an indication how long they've been with the company or if they're more of a personal user or a business builder. To help give you a better idea of this, our ranking order is: Escential, Certified, Lead, Star, Superstar Consultant, Director or Director (Q), Star Director and Superstar Director.

No area is ever saturated, or has 'too many' reps. It's all in the state of your mind. The likelihood that you all travel in the same circles, and know the same people, is highly unlikely. Don't let that stop you. And a good leader doesn't have to live in the same town, city or state you live in. It's about your rapport, her support, and reliability. Good luck & hope you join Scentsy soon!

I felt the same way before joining. I even saw two Scentsy Consultant window signs and one semi-wrapped car in one day last week but guess what? I don't know any of them. Never seen them before in my life. LOL I am in a military town so everybody and her sister is in Scentsy. Just compare it to McDonald's or Wendy's. How many do you have in your town? The next town over? The next major city? They are doing business no matter where they are. The one thing that sticks out is the service. Be the best consultant you can be to your customers and they will remain loyal. You'll do great!

I joined and hadn't heard anything in my area, however, now as I'm approaching people, I'm getting a field there are more reps than I thought. However, I had something interesting happened at work the other day. I was showing a coworker and was explaining how Scentsy works and another lady came up and started talking about how great the products were, she already has a rep and I respect that, but I loved the feedback because it took some of the pressure off me. It also started some buzz in the department with the praise not just coming from me but other customers!

I'm new and loving this biz!
