Hi, I’m so excited to reply to your post. I just joined WAHM today and I will be joining Scentsy very soon. I am one of those ‘lurkers’ you mentioned stalking the Scentsy blogs for tips and tricks to improve my statistics. I have been plotting my path very carefully and have already been asked to do two fundraisers and possibly a third in as many days-this is without any soliciting. I am not really a sales-y person, I just LOVE Scentsy and it shows.
For me a ‘soon to be newbie’, it is most important for me to get my business moving towards success and learn the ropes. This is my first venture into DS so I have a learning curve ahead of me. I do believe very strongly in giving back so fundraisers are a perfect match for me. I can’t say why so many groups are interested in them right now but it could be something to do with decreased donations, not sure. I will share this one thought I had last night about why I love Scentsy fundraisers. Last month I bought an ugly $15 tin of overpriced peanut brittle. This month I spent $16 on overpriced cookies. Next month? I will be selling four cases of overpriced $1 candy bars (50 bars per box)! This situation makes a Scentsy fundraiser look as good as it smells. In a months’ time, a Scentsy purchaser will still be enjoying delightful fragrance (and possibly considering a reorder) rather than tighter pants or a new cavity! Prices aren’t any inflated for a Scentsy fundraiser either. They are what they are to everyone, all year long. Maybe I’m regretting my holiday indulgences and recent calorie laden purchases but wouldn’t you rather have your house smell good rather than a visit to the dentist? I’m just saying… Could you let us know what you put in your fundraising packets and how your run yours? I have a presentation in a couple days and would like to hear what you include and do. Maybe you have some insightful tips to share too. Thanks for listening, hope I didn’t rant too much for my first response. |

Wow, April, nicely said...I will be joining Scentsy soon, too, and plan to do a lot of fundraising with it. I agree with you about all of the *crap* I have purchased through the years. My son's school has strict wellness policies in place; they can't even have a sweet treat during their 3 parties in the year (Holiday, Halloween, Valentine's Day). I am all for healthy eating, but think that may be a little extreme, but it really ticks me off that their biggest fundraiser is selling cookie dough and cheesecakes which are WAY overpriced and not too good. I threw out a $16 cheesecake last Christmas, because it was terrible. Made me sick to do it, but eating it may have made me sick too...haha. I really think Scentsy fundraisers will go over well, because there is something for everybody-someone could go all out and get a warmer and a bunch of scents, or they could just get a scent circle. I think you will both do very well!!

I would say the biggest tip is to Label EVERYTHING. Given that I elect to give all of my Scentsy commission back to the fundraising organization, the long-term opportunity lies in serving new customers, the immediate return is seeing the organization overwhelmed by how successful and profitable a Scentsy Fundraiser is!
