Question Question of the Week 2012: Facebook marketing

I was wondering how many of you on this forum use facebook to market what you do? I'm not referring to paid ads, but rather just posting and sharing about your business?

I used it with my previous business but I don't think I posted enough. I posted about once a week and I think you need to be able to post daily or every other day so people don't forget about you. I just couldn't think of new things to say but I also think that had to do with the type of business I was in and my "newbiness." If that's a word. I'm not using it now. The leader on my upline, I was asking him what he thought about it and he said that he doesn't see any results from it....so I dunno..

Yes, I do post about my business on facebook. I have a business page, which I use exclusively for my business. On my personal page, it is a bit of a balancing act. If we post too much about our business, our "friends" may "un-friend" us. I've read that 80% of posts should be personal, 20% business.

I post daily about my business on my personal profile, but I try to mix it up with fun and more casual things too. I also have a page specifically for my business and I have that linked to Twitter and get the word out that way too.

I have a business Facebook page that I use to promote. I try to do a post at least every other day. I occasionally will post on my personal page on related items.

I have to agree with 81charduck I do post on a regular basis & I only mention something about my business 1x that's all.

If you want to share more than once per day about your business opportunity you can join several different groups that allow you to post your link back to your website.

But what I is share interesting news links from huffington post or yahoo.

Another thing that I have just started doing is asking a daily question about different things we deal with in life...this opens up the opportunity to start networking & building relationships.

You can share pictures of your lifestyle maybe going on vacations, pic's of your family, nice picture of your dinner or whatever.

The way to market on facebook, twitter, linkedin is to show others that you are human & not all business all the time you will definitely grab others attention much quicker than you will with just posting about business all the time.

Most of us in business miss the whole concept when it comes to using Social Networks they are meant for us to connect with others in our niche, share our interests with one another then share our opporunity or products & services with them.

Hope this answers your question

I post on my personal page on fb about once to twice a week, my husband has started posting about our business on his fb page and we have already had one person join! I also have a fanpage specifically for the business, I post throughout the week on that one. What I have found with my fb page is that when I personally contact people on my friends list they have already been wondering what the business is (I just post about our experiences with the business/products & links). So far we've gotten some good feedback. It is definitely a balancing act, don't want to turn your friends off by being too pushy about the business.

Default There is too much marketing on Facebook

I personally do not promote my business ever on FB. I see hundreds of posts each and every day, I know so many people get turned off by this and they stop reading.

It's ironic...because I do not post my opportunity or links I have people coming to me all the time asking what I do. So it's not always the squeaky wheel that gets the oil
