You guys know I am new a week owner of a cat.. What kitty litter do you like?? I got a box of double duty Arm & Hammer. Just changed litter Saturday its already smelling ick. Changed it again this morning.

Yes, I do scoop the poo out daily.

What works for odor control???

I have used many different litters like Scoop Away, Fresh Step, Arm & Hammer and others. I have 7 cats. I recently tried the new Cat's Pride Fresh and Light and really like it alot. It is very low dust which was very important to me too whereas the others are way too dusty which is a mess for the house and not healthy for the cats or myself. I scoop once a day (have 4 large boxes) and have no problems.

Congrats on the new kitty.

I have multiple cats and think Arm & Hammer stinks (literally!). Fresh Step is the only brand I'll use. Nothing else I've tried seems to keep odors at bay quite as well.

I have 4 cats in my house and have 2 litter boxes. Fresh Step is the best that I have used so far.

we use pine pellets with a sieve litter tray. We scoop out solids daily, and give it a shake and the bits that are wet disintegrate and fall through to the bottom tray. No smells, and more hygienic than anything else we have used.

Been looking for some ideas too since Arm & Hammer really doesn't seem to be working all that well

I use that cheap litter from Walmart called Special Kitty and so does my neighbor who has 3 cats, I have 2 cats. I tried some of that sand stuff when I had other kittens but they wouldn't use the box the Vet told me that sometimes that sand burns their feet so I went to this stuff.

I have one kitty. I like the arm and hammer but I also agree that fresh step is the best.

Default Kitty Litter

We have seven kitty monsters that are part of our family and that we dearly love. We use wood pellets like you use in a woodstove for litter and a product the company I work for sells called Bye Bye Odor for the smell. Do a search for Bye Bye Odor - it's a concentrate you mix with water and mist lightly on the litter. It is a microbial based product that actually eliminates the odor.

I only have one cat, but he's older so he can be a bit, er, stinky. We tried Arm & Hammer once, but it started smelling almost immediately, so we switched to Tidy Cats. It stays oder-free for a really long time (sometimes long enough that I forget to change it!)

You can buy it once in a bit plastic bucket, then 10-lb refill bags are really cheap, and much easier to store! They also have a bunch of different products; we used to buy the small spaces one for when we had the litter box in a tiny bathroom, or the multi-cat if we knew we were going to be busy and might not be able to change the box on time
