Angry Dog hair

I cant get rid of it.. My dogs constantly shed (puggles)

What can I give them a vitamin? I already use the furminator I have some special shampoo to help lessen shedding I get it through 1800 petmeds.

Do you have any tricks for me ~Amy

I keep lint remover brushes around the house. I have found its the best thing to get dog hair off clothes, furniture, even carpet. I've even been known to roll my dogs. We bought a furminator too, but it didn't work too well on my short haired dogs.

Well I bred and raised German Shepherds for about 7 years and the only thing that I found that actually lessens shedding is Omega 3 or fish oils. These can be added to their food daily for the best results. Of course most breeds especially GSD is going to shed period but not as bad and usually all the non seasonal shedding stops. You must remove the undercoat when you brush because this is the dead hair. If you are only brushing the top coat you are defeating the purpose. So. weekly brushing good clean skin and Omegas. HTH

Robyn,

Thanks for the tips on the fish oil/Omega 3's. German Shepherds are known to be shedders. It would be nice to reduce the amount for sure.

You are welcome Stella and yep GSD'S are prone for sure. The seasonal is going to happen no matter what but the omegas will help with non-seasonal

I am going to have to look into the Omega vitamins! I have to sweep my house daily and even doing that, I still get a HUGE pile of dog hair. When I first got my dog, he never shed and then after winter, he was shedding like crazy! At times, I hate it ... but I deal with it because he is my baby

The omegas are great for that and also if you add egg to their food it seems to help.... We've also rubbed the dogs coats with aloe vera liquid which not only made their coat shiny and soft but reduced shedding...plus they enjoyed the massage, lol
