Default Is it just me?

Is it just me or does anyone else see a problem with this? - today I was looking up some information and came across this 'snippet' in a google search. It just stuck out & I couldn't help but find it quite odd, hummmmm anyone?

.... Hi I have a 3 month old blue/red pitbull, I was wondering how many cups of food should .... I also have a 7 yr old son that is afraid of any dog in general and we are trying to ...

I myself love animals, and have a big dog, and I've known 'good' pitbulls - but why would you bring a pitbull home to a young son whose is afraid of dogs?

maybe they can find someone who is afraid of spiders & get them a tranchula for xmas.....

yah.... i agree.. unless they got the dog and later found out the child was afraid? and maybe they have tried to rehome it for that reason without any luck? yes, making lots of assumptions

Some people have no common sense. If he's afraid of dogs in general, getting their own isn't the answer - no matter what breed. They should take him to a friends house who has a dog to get him use to being with an animal first. That's just another dog that will end up in the pound.

And people wonder why I like animals better than people - :-).

Because if that pit has been raised well, he'll be a sweet and loving dog. Much better choice to help the boy get over his fears than certain other breeds...

yeah, a pit bull is not a good dog to get to get someone accustomed to dogs. maybe a cute little furball pomeranian like I have!!

Maybe the boy needs time to get used to having a dog around. I am not sure about the background situation, but maybe before the puppy he was not exposed to dogs and is therefore scared.

I think that is kind of sad for the dog and the little boy.. either the boy will live terrified or they will eventually give the puppy away. Seems like something that they should have checked before getting the dog.

I agree with the poster above. If the little boy is scared of dogs, then it probably would have been wiser not to get one because now the little boy is exposed to something he's afraid of every day and the poor dog isn't going to be happy because he has no one to play with. Plus, I don't understand why they chose a pit bull either? It's such a controversial breed - you have some pits that are friendly and loyal their entire lives, some that are raised to fight and others who have been raised around kids and are great and then all the sudden snap for no reason. If that ever happens to this little boy, then the parents will have just reaffirmed his fears. If it were my son, I probably would have picked a breed that is small or medium sized and is known for its friendly disposition. Breeds like the pomerianian, bichon frise, maltese, etc... Just my opinion though.

That's just strange and a bit stupid, is it hard for them to choose between a child and a pet?
