This is very true, but there is still great opportunity on eBay. In these times there are many people and companies with merchandise that they can't move and some are willing to sell some off just to get rid of it. You could provide this merchandise to others for a good value and be helping people on both ends (the supplier and the consumer).

It may easier to start small, and if you find items or suppliers you are successful with you can grow as much as you want.

This is just one example of opportunity (there are unlimited ways to make money online). It takes work, experience, and investing, but it can become a serious and profitable business. There are all kinds of liquidators out there that are doing the hard part for you (finding underpriced merchandise) and some may sell in quantities that are reasonable for people with no budget. Of course better prices come with volume, and it will take time to get to that point, but you have to start somewhere.

You can do all of this without eBay, but eBay provides marketing on levels that most people cannot achieve.

Some people are better at finding collectibles at estate sales and yard sales and selling them online. This can be hit or miss, but if you are good at it, it really can pay.

Find items that you know the value of, even take a hobby and sell items related to it.

Sometimes it is easier to stick to just one or a few types of products. Depending on what it is, it is possible you will have repeat customers or add-on sales this way.

When you aren't successful, eBay can be very frustrating and sometimes overwhelming, but if you can find success it can free you and let you have an easier life, even if you do not have many computer skills.

There are so many items that money can be made with, you just have to constantly be thinking about this until you discover something that you can provide to people at a good value. Start training yourself to think differently. When you shop, look at items that you think are overpriced, and when you have a chance do research on suppliers for that item to see if you could cut out some middle men and provide it to people for less money than the stores do. Always look for opportunities and hopefully one day you will find one. Just make sure you can make enough profit to make it worthwhile (after fees, labor, and shipping).

Sorry for such a long post, but there is just so much opportunity here for people that don't want to leave home to make money. It may not work for most people, but for those that keep pushing, you can find something that works.

Best wishes and blessings to all, and I wish you great success in your ventures.

Depends a lot on the item your selling. I do pretty good with computer products.
Ebay makes it easy to research items that are selling (or not)in a category (completed listings)
Good Luck!

I'm a bit late on this, I used to be a casual seller but I now do eBay full time since May 2011. I am not a bg company, just a mom. I do not have an eBay store, but I list at least 50 auctions per month for free on eBay's listing promotion.

The ability to do eBay full time really depends on how much money you need to make per month for it to be "full time" for you.

If you do NOT have a store, your first 50 Auction Style listings are free to list! At any starting price which is nice...........

The listing fees were never the issue for me, it's what they charge off the final price of the item that I don't like. I'd be perfectly happy paying 20 cents per listing if I didn't have to pay 12-15% on the final price of the item. I used to sell a lot on eBay, mostly items from my closets, but since they keep raising the fees, I've moved on to greener pastures with no fees.

I agree. I used to sell alot on eBay and as of now I am still a Top Rated Power Seller and actually just today I started listing on there again, but I know the fees in the back end are so high (and you also have to add on Paypal fees).

I would love to know what what other sites you are selling on that don't have fees. Could you send me a PM too? Thank you!
