Need good dropshippers?

Hi Everyone,

I have been trying to find some good dropshippers that don't charge a membership fee?I don't mind paying a per item fee but not membership fees. Any good advice would be greatly appreciated.

A common misconception by most people .... It's the item quality and profitability from a drop shipper which determine if you can make money from. There're nothing to do with the fee structure, whether or not it charges the monthly fee or per item fee.

You have to find out what the dropshipper is giving you the product for, and then you determine the resell pric but you have to be careful with that you don't want to go too high...if you find you have to charge higher than the dropshipper's retail price just to see a decent profit you MIGHT not want to go with them.

Some offer true wholesale - Jewelry for 19 bux but retails for 129...

Some..not so much...wholesale 40bux that retails at 59, unless you sell A LOT.

I am totally against dropship memberships, they are a scam...period.

There is something backwards about this idea of charging someone to sell your inventory. Of course I am talking about excessive dropshipping fees and membership kits that a supplier might force you to buy if you want the privilege of selling their stock.

We will dropship to your clients, just pay our $129.99 dropship club fee and you can be off and running your business today!

Dropshipping Club? What is that about….Do I get membership card or some sort of vest to wear on Tuesdays?

No, its just a fee we charge to give you the privilege of buying our inventory. Oh, and did we mention each time you make a purchase from us we will charge you a dropshipping fee per box shipped?

Alright, all kidding aside. I personally pay huge amounts of money on PPC campaigns, banner advertising, affiliate program management with the intent to bring sales to my company. Traffic to my website translates to sales and traffic is not cheap. If I can lower my marketing expenses and still make a sale working with an outside sales force, please sign me up!

I never understood the idea of charging someone to sell my inventory. If someone wants to collect money and handle all aspects of customer service while I ship a product out to their client…I say go for it!

I am certain there are some administrative and labor costs associated with making sure a dropship order is disguised as having been shipped from the company purchased through, but besides that I do not see why there must be a membership fee to pay or fee per order?

I know of several large multi-million dollar Ecommerce websites that do not stock a single item; they have several suppliers who ship merchandise for them! They do not use dropshipers that charge a “program fee”, in fact most the suppliers that they use were sought out and not found in some dropship directory.

You can be successful finding suppliers and using the dropship model to ship from virtual warehouses across the country, but it takes great effort on your part to set up a fulfillment arrangement.

Call on prospective wholesalers, distributors and manufacturers and let them know you are interested in selling their product line. Make sure they understand that they have one responsibility, which is shipping. Your company will handle the sale and follow up with customer servicing of the account!

The key to a successful dropship arrangement is spending the time needed to source unique products and selling the concept to your source about the advantage of having an outside sales team sending orders daily!

(I PERSONALLY GOT SCAMMED AND I USED PAYPAL) you still have no protection just because you went through paypal. cause they claimed since it wasnt and ebay auction there was nothing they can do. $1k down the drain. so be careful!!!!

I don't know how DAFU works, but there ARE legitimate suppliers in China. I can vouch.. One of the suppliers contributed in saving my business! I will be forever grateful...SERIOUSLY. Long story LOL

I work with a couple overseas suppliers now. I will agree and say you have to be VERY VERY careful. I have had a taste of the good and the bad...

The good, my suppliers are very accommodating - very willing to work with me, answers my questions promptly, they are honest, take pride in their work, ships fast, and I have received raving feedback from the end users, there is dropshipping available.

The bad, one of my suppliers sent a fake of what she advertised as real, and the items did not match the pics, and I had to pay out of my pocket to rectify everything with a few customers - it worked in my favor but it could have been much worse. Though I lost about $1k, I have regained confidence from those customers who are willing to trust me and order again, and I've totally turned situations around where I could have had my business tarnished in a big way. The sad thing this supplier didn't think she did anything wrong and refused to refund the full amount I paid her for each item. She was fired and onward I went.
So yes be VERY careful...it sounds weird, but I'm glad it happened so I know exactly what to expect now...this was trial and error and I learned A LOT.

I would highly suggest before you start investing your money in a supplier, get a sample to see the goods yourself and I'd also recommend light bulk if you can afford it. For those that don't know, light bulk is basically doing mostly dropshipping, but also keeping a very very low inventory, should the drop shipped item go out of stock, discontinued, back order or whatever so your customers aren't kept waiting...it also gives you first hand knowledge of the quality of the products..

DEFINITELY invest in getting sample. B/c if you just dropship you can't inspect the item yourself. I wish I had practiced that or I wouldn't have lost all that money and went thru all the issues - it was nerve wrecking to say the least.

I can't guarantee that your biz will be flawless, but taking the necessary steps in the beginning can reduce chances of what's happened to me, malibuchick and others I'm sure.
