I think it depends on your area. If I were doing a flat rate I would probably do $22 since they cost $19.95. I, however, only charge $19.95 plus tax locally and write off the shipping, but that's just how I want to do it. It's your business so you can operate it the way you feel comfortable.

I charge $20 that includes tax. I have a tax ID on file with corp so I dont get charged any sales tax. I also dont charge shipping, unless its a party order. I write the shipping off my taxes.

You still need to pay sales tax, even if the company isn't charging it to you because you have your own tax ID. Basically, when you don't file a tax ID with the company, they are REQUIRED to charge you the sales tax and pay it to your state for you. If you DO file a tax ID with the company, then they are no longer required to charge you for it, however it is now your responsibilty to pay the sales tax to your state yourself instead. You will need to keep track of your sales, and pay your state the sales tax on those sales so that you don't end up in trouble. There is a document regarding sales tax in the backoffice. I just wanted to make sure that you knew that even though the company isn't charging it to you anymore, you are STILL responsible to pay it to your state yourself so that you won't get into trouble. Hope that helps.

Yes I'm well aware of that, and I do file the taxes for my state at the end of each year.

Ok cool. The way the other post had read, was that you don't charge customers sales tax because you don't pay it since you had the papers on file with the company, and that you eat the shipping cost yourself keeping the price to customer just $20 (all inclusive).... so I just wanted to make sure that you knew about the taxes so that you didn't get into trouble. Just trying to help. Have a great day.
