I'm giving you the link. I am already seeing the fruits of my labor. I've only had my site up for a few days. I'm sharing this because I struggled with making money from writing for nearly two years(no luck) before having things just now take off. Jenn has really helped me to see that it's possible to support myself and my family if needed. Click here to view more details

Thanks! Yes, got it just in time, and I've submitted my application. I hope I hear back quickly - the wait is going to be nerve-wracking. Although if I get turned down the first time, I can just reapply like you did, right?

I would love the link to that person's site you mentioned. For most of my time as a freelancer, I was just earning supplemental income. But now that we temporarily have no other income, I really need to step it up. A website would be a good way to do that.

Thanks again!

Hey, hope you get this in time.
hey, I just listed my experience like you posted here. I don't think they care about the wording, just that you have experience. It took less than 24 hours to hear back from them this time. The last time it was like 3 days. As for the professional website, I only set it up because I got a nudge from a professional ghostwriter. If you want to get serious about your writing let me know and I'll send you the link for her site. In just a year and a half she makes three times what she made as a teacher.

Hey, thanks for letting me ask some questions. I am so nervous about applying to Suite that I put it off for a long time. I decided today was the day. I'm wondering about the format of the section, "Expertise Related to Suite101.com Topics." How did you do that part? I'm thinking about putting it in a bulleted list, like this:

*Professional freelance writer since 2007
*Bachelor’s degree in Humanities with an English emphasis (2000)
*Took several literature courses
*Worked as an editing intern at Inscape Magazine, where I assisted with manuscript selection, editing, and proofreading

But how did you do it? Any thoughts or suggestions? How long did it take you to hear back from them?

Random question about your website - did you advertise anywhere to get it noticed so fast? I put off making a professional website thinking that it wouldn't make a difference in drawing in clients. Sounds like I was wrong!

Thanks for your help! Congrats again on your new gigs.
