Question Facials/Skin Care Classes

I am a Beauty Consultant with Mary Kay working on becoming active status again.
I'm challenging myself to hold a 10 bookings in 1 week, a few directors shared with me that it can really boost my business.
I've gotten interest, but it's been from people before who have said yes and then postponed.
Any advice on how to get them to commit to their appointment?

I seriously would go back to those "encouraging" directors and ask them how they book and hold 10 classes/week. I would then go one step more and ask permission to attend some of THEIR classes to refresh YOUR techniques.

My guess is that not one of the "encouraging" directors will take you up on your offer b/c (1) they know that what you want to do cannot be done, and (2) very few directors ~~ or consultants for that matter ~~ hold classes anymore b/c, quite frankly, you get more excuses than you get yeses.

Good luck, anyway! I'm anxious to hear how it all works out for you.

If you want to hold 10 classes in a week, you'll need to book 20 to hold 10. Remember, half will hold.

I am not trying to be negative, but postponements or cancellations are very common in direct sales businesses. For you to hold 10, you should overbook by what Bobbi has indicated or more. COACHING your hostess and profiling will most likely increase your bookings. If you can book from the class, this might also be better. Having been through it already, it takes sincere determination and commitment on your part to get the business up, going and running and stay running. If this is what you love to do, go for it.

Thank You! I do understand postponements and cancellations happen. Life is busy as it is. I do believe the coaching & preprofiling would help because it would be somewhat of a partnership between myself and the hostess in getting the guests to attend. I will certainly work on double booking & booking from classes as well. I am committed & determined to growing personally and professionally through this experience.

Thanks again for the tips & encouragment!

There is a consultant in the Toupin National Area named Barbara Henney.
For the 2010 seminar year, she facialed 1,130 women. She held 236 parties that year, and 224 of them were daytime. Her retail sales were over $126,000.
She was the Queen of Consultant sales that year. Last year, she was runner-up.

If she can, we all can!

Default Should I do Mary Kay Again?

Was nice to find some chat about MK. I have done it in years past, several times actually.
It has been over five years I believe.

I usually made money. But it is difficult in the area I am in and I am wanting to advertise on the internet for sales and team building IF I do this again. and the rules are SOOOO strict, I feel "hog tied" ........

So many things I liked about doing MK, but there are so many reps. I have spent two weeks online searching for a business I would like to do ..there is always something majorly wrong, either the profit margin or the compensation plan............MK is pretty ideal...........

I guess no matter what I decide to do there will be obstacles...........ho hum. just chatting to
help me think LOL

any input from ya all?
Cheryl

I know how you feel Cheryl. I've been in and out of MK a few times. The 50% is great, but the inventory thing drives me nuts.

I think the best business model is with a consumable product that the customer can purchase directly from the company or via auto-ship.

I looked into the shake business, but after speaking with a lot of people, customers will only stay on the products for about 60 days. So you are constantly finding new people.

I started MK 15 years ago and was in and out 3 times. But customers I had 15 years ago are still using the products. But the same is true for Arbonne. I've been using some of their skin care for 6 years and love it! In my opinion, I think skin care is business to be in. If people love the product, they are usually very loyal to that product.

I read something last night that said if your WHY is great enough, you will find a way. Right now, my why isn't big enough, which is why I keep flip flopping.

Good luck!

Well the inventory never bothered me...........I loved having inventory and having it there at classes...........! I just had a hard time financially aquiring what I wanted.

I know a consumable product is best, or so they say, makes sense though. I don't have any old customers left, and have been a recluse, making and selling my own jewelry.......so it would be a chore to get this old girl going again and out the door LOL

You've received some great advice from women who have actually worked their MK business more than once. I also fit into that category. I can look back now and see a lot of good things I learned from MK. I met some really nice people in my journey as a consultant, red jacket and "this close" to director. I like make-up, but I love chocolate and I soon realized this was my true passion.

"If I knew then what I know now" .... MK was a good experience overall and taught me a lot.
Please keep us posted, we are cheering you on towards YOUR pink success !

Loving thoughts to all,

Pink Pea
