I haven't posted much here lately, as it looks like not many have either...about 2 or 3 posts in a month .....but anyway as all of us know the amount that can be made at kgb is much less now than it was a few months ago...$2-$3 used to be a good estimate but now even that is pretty high...I'm averaging about $1.45-$1.60 on weekday afternoons...ouch at that point you have to really wonder if its worth it...espicially in the spring here when you can be out enjoying the weather.

So I think as the spring comes I'll be working less, and even less during the summer, at least enough to get my 8 hours in per month and then work more again during the fall and winter months when I'm going to be in the house anyway.

KGB has sent out emails saying they are expecting volumes to increase, so good luck to anyone who needs the money and is still going to hang in there.

Well...I'm going to be optimistic and hope that things get better, because it has in the past when we were overstaffed. I just think that the SB situation and the new agent recruitment strategies were new for the company so we really didn't know what to expect. But we can use that experience for future reference so that we can be prepared for similar situations. My only issue is staffing. People who consistently "game" or give out poor quality answers that are damaging to the brand should be terminated. This would probably eliminate overstaffing. But that's just my two cents. I plan to stick with the company and see what happens

I didn't get any emails about volume increasing but like Mesia I intend to stick around. I enjoy the company and have made a lot of friends!

Here was the email I got about volume increasing:

I have nothing against kgb, and actually made enough money to justify it in Nov, Dec, and Jan..but now I just can't justify spending my time making so little money when I could be off taking a bicycle ride

WE’RE GOING GLOBAL!

Exciting news! We’re finalizing the build of a full-scale UK version of our text handling tool. We are gearing up for the tool to support text volumes from the new 542542 text answer service that we will be launching in the UK soon! We will also use the tool to help support volumes from our very successful and already established text services in the UK and Ireland. So watch out; volume will be coming your way from customers across the pond in early April 2010! Get ready! (Text volume from our two new mobile applications in the UK will move over to the UK version of the tool as well. That volume was minimal in comparison to these volumes!) More to follow on this very soon…

I can't wait until there is more volume. I agree it slowed since the superbowl over hiring. I'm hoping the new upgraded system and the traffic from across the pond will give us all more volume. I know I for one would rather be answering texts and grading reviews instead of playing solitaire and helping in chat.

ETA: I'm not planning on going anywhere. I love kgb.

I got deactivated, even though I wrote them and told them that I couldn't work. They wont reactivate me right now because they said they have way too many agents. I hope it does improve in a few months and I can get back on.

Sorry to hear that. I would rather have someone who wants to work, but needed to take a break for awhile instead of some of the bad agents.

I'm getting tired of the endless announcements for a select few to search before asking and if you are on a try me shift you shouldn't be logged in without Otto asking you to.

I agree about that message about searching before asking in chat, who does that anyway? It takes forever any time I ask in chat to get anyone's attention plus actually getting a good answer to the question...not very often.

Work stuff chat works good when the question isn't that hard, or there are some people who don't know about mathway or the other math sites.

Work Stuff is a madhouse! The few agents that need help with a difficult question are drowned out by tons of lazy agents who can't be bothered to use Google. I swear some of them camp out on there and ask for help on EVERY question they get. The RTQers are just as bad. They really made a HUGE mistake by hiring a bunch of agents without requiring them to pass the certification exam. I don''t know why they massively overhired in the first place-the SuperBowl was a huge fiasco.

I worked for kgb when they first started and hung in for about 4 months or so.

Struggling to get a question, bad answers, and QC people that were not very good sent me off to ChaCha where I found I could make much more with less headaches. They too have changed since then.

It seems that you really need to know what you are doing and spend hours working to only make a few bucks.

Fortunately I found a good gig that pays more than 3 times what I was making with either text company.

AQA is currently hiring -63336 researcher vacancies - work from the comfort of your own home

They are based in the UK but are hiring in the US.

Supposedly they pay up to 30 cents per ques.

I have not signed up or tested so I don't have any details except that they are similar to Cha and kgb.
