Default Must schedule shifts from now on?

According to the latest email:

Quote:
Volumes today remain very strong; however, the staffing/volume balance has shifted. We are working to achieve a rebalance, as we have heard your concerns about not being busy enough as we ramp up to staff for the Super Bowl advertising. To account for that, we are making updates to the system to ensure that we do not overstaff shifts. This means it will be important for you to go into Rota and schedule shifts going forward, so you know that you will be busy when you login to work
I can deal with that if it really does mean being 'busy' but we will see how it goes.

Also there is an announcement about making people in Canada and the Phillipenes eligible to work for KGB, Canada seems like a pretty logical extension to me, but Phillipenes I am not sure. Basically most of the questions are dealing with American teenage pop culture, it could be very likely that there will be quite alot of new agents from the Phillipenes that just don't 'get' some of the questions and the quality of service will go down. I could be wrong but thats just my 2 cents.

I would expect that the $2-$3 an hour would be very attractive in the Phillipines.

According to this the average income for a person in the Phillipenes is $2,603 US dollars per year:

Philippines Average Salary Income - Job Comparison

A teachers salary is about $237 US dollars per month, you could theoretically make about the same amount working for KGB as being a teacher.

Cool

I really don't know what to think about all of this quite yet. I'll reserve my judgment and see what happens first. Who knows....It may turn out like the new UK app and we may not even notice the difference.....We'll see what happens.

I'm glad scheduling is required again. I'd rather be busy than sitting in the forums passing time, but that is just me.

As for other countries joining the ranks, I'm going to wait and see what happens. I just hope quality does not fall any more. I'm tired of bad sources, RTQ and a laundry list of other things I see in the database and customer history.

There have been quite a few changes in the year that kgb_ has been open here in the states. Most of the time the changes have been for the better. It's hard to believe that kgb_ has been around for a year already.

So just following up it doesn't seem like scheduling shifts are a strict requirement yet, the rota is all pink for every day of the week this week, so they at least aren't getting tons of people to schedule, they may be doing this week or the upcoming weeks as a test to see how it goes.

The day of the Super Bowl does looked kind of booked though, I had never actually seen yellow 'try me' shifts but there are some yellow ones for Super Bowl day, I won't be able to work that day so doesn't affect me.

I've been going ahead and filling out a 'shift' before I log on, since thats what was suggested in one of the emails.

They seem to really be pushing the idea to 'dismiss' anything that is not a question. I gladly do that, but I'm sure plenty of people would rather send something back 'no charge' in order to get the .10 cents.
