Hi everyone,
i am a new just jewelry consultant (started in December) and am really just now starting up my business. I have my first open house and catalog parties coming up. I would love to hear some succes stories on how to book more shows (outside of booking from an existing show) and how to succeed in getting new recruits. I know there are many successful JJ folks and I would love to hear your tips and successes. Thanks! karen |

Welcome to Just Jewelry, Karen!
The #1 best advice I can give is to conduct your business with honesty and integrity. Besides that, having a personal website is very helpful for leads for customers or new consultants. If you have a website, you will need to follow the rules from the consultant manual: absolutely no selling from any website (that includes online order forms, shopping carts, ebay, craigslist, etc.). Now, you can advertise on websites without any issues, but there is a huge difference between advertising and selling online. If I want to do anything that I think may be borderline on the rules, I always contact corporate and talk with Jenny as she is the one that oversees policy clarifications. I agree with Sandra that a fanpage is great. Blogs are also a fun way to share the business. If you get a lead online, always ask if you are the first person they contacted. Also, be cautious of spamming. We recently ran into an issue with a woman contacting everyone listed on the consultant locator. It was obviously a hoax, but a lot of people did contact her. Treat other consultants, your team, your hostesses and your customers well. You will have repeat hostesses and customers, and a team that will reciprocate! Wear your jewelry out and keep items in your purse so if someone likes your necklace, instead of contacting them later to buy, they can buy one right then. My upline fills out the receipt already and has it all wrapped up, bagged and ready to go. She has sold several items this way. I'm definitely going to start to do this. ![]() I know it sounds silly, but wear your name badge around town. Places I go to on a regular basis have employees that are starting to get to know me by name as I'm working to build up relationships with them. Quality relationships are what works in the long run. Just passing out you business card to anyone, does not. Vendor shows are a great way to get your name out there. If you haven't already, order business cards. If I run out of catalogs at a vendor show, I give them my card and direct them to the JJ website where they can view the catalog online, or I take their information to contact them after the show to get them a catalog, usually via meeting up for coffee. Google "networking groups" near you. You will make some great new friends, contacts and customers at those groups. ![]() We're here to help so always feel free to post questions here.
