Red face Message for Carla Spurgeon

I tried to pm you and it would not let me, and my husband accidentally erased your number from our caller ID so I am hoping you will read this here. To follow up with you, I received the full sized product and I cannot wear it. The blue line burns me and I do not care for either scent around my face. We have confirmed what we needed to and I will be sending the package back to you as requested in the mail as soon as possible. I appreciate the efforts and I wish I could tolerate the Jafra products. I wish you all the best in all your endeavors. Thanks so much.

If that blue "burned your face"... you're probably very, very dehydrated. That is a sensitive line... and it is good for all but the most dehydrated people. There also is no solvent perfumes in it - so as far as "fragrance" with it, I just don't understand that.

I sell more of it than any of our other lines. Never had a return.

If your skin can't tolerate Jafra... you probably can't tolerate anything. But I'm sure you'll report back here when you find success, right?

Just curious, how long did you try it?

I'm sure you'll find that Carla will handle the return easily.

Oh... an after thought: DIdn't you already have this product before as a sample? WIth no problerm? ???

And... seems you're enjoying posting this in the public area when it would be more appropriate to send Carla an IM here. Seerms odd (and that's being kind).

Default tried to reply - twice

Maybe the third time is a charm?

I am not surprised or upset. Remember, I have your skin profile results and I was pretty sure that you were supposed to try the Hydration, not the Calming. Oh well. The bottom line is that I did all I can do and will have to see this as a learning experience.

These things happen. As a trainer, It gives me notes for my newer consultants not to take it personally when a client does not believe the skin profile and not to take it personally when you have offered the best you can offer. I think from our phone conversation last week that we determined that there wasn't much more I could do if sending you a full size product that had just come off a Fed Ex truck to a completely smoke free home bothered you.

Life happens. Thanks for taking the time to let me know. For those reading this, remember that one person's experience is her own. Your results may vary.

btw...my phone number is on my mailing label. And no clue why you couldn't send me a pm. I don't have any blocks set.

Thanks for the opportunity to share!

If someone is suited for hydration, I do start them on that... but if someone tells me that they have an issue with fragrance, I make sure and tell them that I have a "fall back" and can set them up with calming.

I set up a gal today just like this. She was bailing from her current skin care/makeup company and wants to try my Jafra. She said the other company's makeup was bothering her eyes. She didn't think the hydration would bother her... so that is my first course of action with her. But she already knows that I'm willing to swap that out for calming if need be.

Default there's the rub

Thanks for the feedback. That you would have gone with the Hydration first is no surprise as that exactly what I did. Based on her comments and the confirmation of the profile results.

And that is the issue. I went with the hydration, she didn't like the smell and so I sent the calming because she said several times she is sensitive. Her profile said HYDRATION. Again, problems with the scent. She called Jafra, they said they couldn't tell any marked scent as she reported in her post last week. The suggestion was that perhaps it was due to the concentrated nature of the samples.

So, after the post last week, and my notes from Jafra, we talked and she wanted to try the full size Calming to see if the issue was just in the samples.

Apparently, she has a hyper sense of smell and can not tolerate the botanicals used in either formulation. Not much more that I can do if she can not tolerate those. Having tried the other brands on the market that she has used and not getting rid of the scent on my skin until I had bathed twice, I'm quite surprised. However, the client is always right, so I have to accept and let it go.

Perhaps she is just at that point in her life where the time is not right for her to use Jafra and if I treat her with respect, she will remember Jafra positively.

Thanks though!

How strange! I have extremely sensitive skin and Jafra is the only skincare line I can use without breaking out. I guess it's not for everyone. It certainly is for me!

Ditto! My skin is VERY temperamental. Jafra works great and I LOVE the scents of the skin care products. Yummy. :-)

I've done hundreds of clients....

And whenever I hear the "my face burns" thing... it's one of two things:

1. The gal is so extremely dehydrated/irritated from other factors - and that exposes nerve endings.

2. She's a drama queen and loves to whine for attention. <--- lots of those out there.

Now... I'm not saying people don't have sensitivities..... not at all. But they usually are not from the things they **think** they are.

More often than not (IMO), chemical sunscreens are one of the culprits. Perfume fragrances are another. It's not "parabens" and the other things that some companies would love to have you believe. (Esthetician talking here)

As for Jafra (given you guys have no problem bellyaching publicly)... if you were given the proper product, and in this case, it should be the "calming" line we have... I can guarantee you won't "burn". That is just utter nonsense..... again... unless a person's skin is such a big mess that anything is going to hurt until they get it back into condition.

Default Really?

Okay. I've been with Jafra for 28 years. I have had clients of all kinds and ages. Some with allergies. Even my mother in law that could not use perfumes or scents because of a medical condition did NOT have any problems using the Jafra skin care line. So, to find 2 people in a matter of a month that could "not tolerate" the products is just a little fetched in my book.

I am sensing that there is more at play here than just an issue of "burning" or too strong a scent. It is very easy to pawn off an excuse to cover up something else. Much like the old song and dance that I know we have all heard "my husband won't let me". Now come on girls, I'm married, and I know that as long as he doesn't have to be bothered with the distraction, he could care less as long as you are happy.

So, thank you Athletic Pro for picking this thread to insert your opinions about the Jafra line. Do I have a target on my back or something? You've been on wahm only minutes and zoomed in on the thread with my name on it? Really?

Let's try another topic please!
