Default Google Chrome ??

Hopefully one of you experienced telecommuters can help me. Using windows vista.. After downloading google chrome I came across a company that wont workwith it. I need chrome for my present job. Is there a way to use internet explorer (not firefox) Can I toggle back and forth? Or just load one when needed then close and work with other? I'm so confused

Any suggestions would be so thoughtful,
Thanks

You should be able to have multiple browsers installed and running at the same time. (I've had Firefox, Opera and Seamonkey all running at the same time before, though that's on Linux).

Just give it a go, and see if it works for you (should).

Yes, you can have several browsers on your computer and toggle back and forth. I have Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome and I use Chrome mostly, but I use Firefox for one job and IE for another.

Question How is this done

This is interesting so how do you get the 3 different internet browers to work? Do you click on something to change the browers?

I am not sure I understand the question. You can have more than one browser open at the same time. For example, my customer service job requires Internet Explorer and my typing job requires Mozilla Firefox. When my customer service job is slow, I open Firefox, but leave IE minimize, so I can just click on it to bring it up when I get a call.

Now if you want one browser to be your default then you have to go into the tools setting of the browser. I hope I answered your question.

I run Firefox and IE.

I jusy go to my Start menu at the bottom left and choose IE. IE opens.

Then I choose Firefox from my Start Menu. A separate Firefox window opens.

thanks for all the info! That's what I need to know. Just open the one I need each time. Here I was trying to figure out to use default and still have ability to choose..

It doesn't matter which one is default as far as running more then one.

I often have multiple browsers running. Some browsers work better with coupon sites, for instance. I love the functionality of chrome. But I feel like I'm sacrificing privacy when I use it. Wherever I go, Chrome seems to know what I've been searching for or recently looking at. It's a little unnerving.
