Default Health Insurance

I have HIP SmartStart health insurance plan with EmblemHealth. I pay for the insurance myself, as a self-employed worker. The company just notified me that that are going to raise my premium to about $100 more a month. I'm am quite upset because I now pay $367 for single coverage and I never use my insurance. Thank god I haven't been sick, but I don't earn a lot of money and $467a month is no small sum of money. Can anybody on this forum direct me to more affordable coverage? Please, don't recommend one of those plans that send you to participating doctors who give you a discount price. I need an HMO or similar type of plan.

Thank you for any suggestions.

The best place to compare the prices of all the different plans of all the "real" health insurance companies is at e-healthinsurance - Individual and Family Health Insurance

There you can sort your results by deductible, by price, see what each one offers or excludes, and sign up right there, just like you were signing up through any other insurance agent, (no matter whether you sign up there or at the health insurance companies' website the price is the same). I have used this a couple of different times myself over the years to compare and to purchase insurance, and quite a few times I go there and browse just to see how much it would cost to get insurance.
