Default I'm anxious and worried

i know this is probably going to sound stupid but I have been anxious and worried. Nothing has changed in my life but the past couple of days I have been super anxious and worried about money and about something happening to my husband ie source of income. I have been a stay at home mom and even though my kids are in school one of them gets sick and has to go to a hospital that is 6 hours away so that is why I haven't went back to work yet. I have been trying to get a wah but no luck yet. I had an interview earlier in the week which I think is aggravating the circumstances because they asked me weird questions like what was the last book I reads and what did i get out of it it. Any way didn't get it.

I am sorry you are going through a difficult time and that you are anxious about your circumstances. I wish I had the perfect thing to say, but just know that someone is thinking about you today.

Saying a prayer for you!

LOL I would not understand those questions either so I am right there with you on that one. I think things will look up for you. We all get into those thoughts of mind nowadays. Hopefully you will find exactly what you need and it will all work out well.
Hugs to you~

Default I can certainly relate :)

I understand where you are coming from Blue. With over 20 years of general office and light bookeeping experience, I have been unable to secure a job. As a recent cancer survivor, I left a stressful brick and mortar job a few years back having no idea the economy would take such a turn. Now, it's crunch time and with each interview my anxiety goes up as my confidence gets a bit more rattled. Some of the questions they ask totally throw me off my game. I must say, I have not had the book question yet. Maybe that is yet to come

I did have the lovely "critical thinking test" sprung on me not long ago asking questions like...

A hunter left his house and walked three miles south, walked three miles west, shot and killed a bear, and walked three miles north to his home. What color was the bear? lol - The answer is white and I won't forget that for awhile, but who thinks up this stuff? Especially, when you are nervous as it is.

At the end of the day, I just turn it over to God and know that something will come along. He always manages to send just enough, right when we need it most. For you, I pray for peace and a relaxing day.

Take Care,
Michelle

If you have administrative skills why not start your own business as a Virtual Assistant? I truly believe contracting service jobs such as VA, or bookkeeper (from home) are great professions to get into. I have some links to some sites if you'd like, though I don't want to "spam" the boards.

I work as a VA from home and it has solved so many problems for me in terms of working from home and taking care of my family.

It is a perfect time to do something like this because when the economy is down small businesses would rather pay someone only for the time they need them and only for the tasks they need them to do.

It is not hard to get started and the start up cost is very low. It is something to consider.

Tell them you just read the last issue of PlayGirl. You really enjoyed the articles about pick up guys at bars.

See their faces drop.

I love what I do and when I'm interviewing someone I just want to get to know them as a person and could careless what they are reading LOL.

Good Luck with everything girl and just keep smiling and hold your head up!!

I think we're all a little anxious and afraid with this economy and with all that's going on in the world. Seems like disaster is hanging around every corner.

I do not understand why these HR people insist on asking these ridiculous questions of applicants. Some tips: Make sure you research the company and position you're applying for. You'll seem knowledgeable and on top of the situation. Think about what questions they might ask beforehand, and think about how you'll answer. Most of all, breathe deep. If you don't get this job, you'll get another. Good luck!
