Smile New Here + ? about mTurk

Hello everyone. I have just started looking into WAH stuff and found this place. I'm a happily married 43 year old big cuddly Pooh Bear. (My wife is my Hunny and we all know how much Pooh Bear loves his Hunny). We are from the Chattanooga TN area. I'm disabled/retired and my wife only works part time. We are looking at ways to supplement our income.

I've been playing around with mTurk and so far I like it. Not getting rich fast but it is convenient and easy. I have found several HITs that I like doing. I can check my account history and see what I have done and for whom. How can I go back and find that group of HITs so I can continue working on the ones I liked.

I would also like to find some WAH jobs that pay a bit more. I'm not good at talking to people on the phone or in person selling. I could tutor math or physics but I don't have a degree in either field. I tried writing answers for some of those type HITs but my answers were either too short or WAY too long. I'm good at explaining technical and scientific stuff. I just tend to be somewhat verbose in my explanations. I could only answer a couple of the questions and stay within the word limits.

Anyway, I hope to learn from y'all and hopefully make some extra spending money.

Pooh Bear

I just wanted to welcome you to the forum

I have tried mturk before and the pay is really really low I don't think you can make to much money with it

I have even heard of people doing mturk and they said it was hard to even earn $50 dollars a month with it

I would look around for other things you can do if I was you I have seen some hits that want 500 word articles for $.01

I mean its so many other things you can do with your time for more money I would check out the telecommuting folder for ideas good luck

I agree with the Melanielynn. MTurk is a huge waste of time. It really is like giving your time away for free.

MTurk is a useful service if you want simple tasks done - I use it all the time - but I can't think anyone uses it to make money...

My suggestion is to try affiliate marketing or set up your own ecommerce store - not difficult and both are cheap to start.

Welcome from a fellow Tennesean and huge Disney fan (I have always been the Eeyore to my husband's Tigger).

Nice to "meet" you.
