Jenny,

So nice to meet you on here. Sounds like you have an amazing story to share!!
I, too, think we should have an "adoptive mom" forum on here. I will request one, and maybe if a few others second that request, it could happen?

My real mother was adopted. Then, when she couldn't take care of me, my grandparents became my legal guardians. I couldn't have been any closer to them if I was their "blood relation". Anyone can have a baby (I know, I have two children), but you have to put real effort forth and REALLY want a child to go through that long process. I have met my real birth relatives (they looked for us), and truthfully, I don't have any contact with them. I love my adopted family.

I have a 2 1/2 year old adopted from Guatemala. She has been home 13 months. We started her adoption when she was 2 months old and she come home at 19 months. It was so worth it. Everything I do is for Katie .. I have 3 bio children , 2 of which are out of the house and one who will start college in the Fall. I would love to adopt from Guatemala again but financially the first adoption wiped us out, plus Guatemala isn't completly reopened..

MyPrivateQuarters,

Nice to see you on this thread---I've enjoyed talking to you about candles, and now I feel like I know you better. Thank you for sharing your story.

Lisa,

So nice to meet you on this thread.

I am loving reading everyone's stories...now we just need an adotive mom/adoptee forum on here. I imagine we could learn a lot from each other!
