This is a very interesting topic. I have read many things indicating that cows milk in general is not beneficial to human bodies and that the majority of "facts about milk" are false claims made by the dairy industry and backed by the government to trick us into believing it is healthy. One such notion that scares me is the multiple independent scientific studies that show the calcium in cows milk is not absorbed as efficiently as proclaimed due to a protein also present in the milk.

Default Food

Everything you hear on tv and read online about food, is somewhat true. But then again, some of the things are crazy! i was watching on NBC, that there is more people dieng in these days then back in the 1900's, becasue of the food intake. Why that is, because of all the hard substinces that people are putting in them. There is more hytose corn syrup in foods now, it's so unreal. Why are people making everything sweeter? Don't they know thats what making people fatter. Then again now days it just all about the money!

EZDisplay has it pretty close to the truth. Not all fat is bad -- some fats are essential for health. Milk fat is NOT. No animal consumes milk after weaning from it's mother and humans shouldn't be doing it either.
The big "joke" is that dairy is probably the worst way you can get your calcium. Do some research. Go read about what happened in Japan after dairy products were introduced into the diet. Read about how the countries with the lowest rates of dairy consumption have the lowest rates of osteoporosis and the countries with the highest rates of dairy consumption have the highest rates of osteoporosis.
All milk contains growth hormones -- all of it. Organic milk may not have "added" growth hormones but it still has the naturally occuring amount. Baby calves need to grow quickly so their mother's breastmilk has a lot of growth hormones.
By the way, the bovine growth hormone matches the human growth hormone and so it attaches to the receptors in our bodies very easily, confusing our bodies into thinking it's human growth hormone. So when you drink milk, you're getting extra doses of growth hormone in addition to your own.
I think the reason so many parents have problems getting their young children to "drink their milk" is because the kids' instincts know something that adults don't -- cow milk is bad for you.
And for the record, I'm not a vegetarian -- I like my meat!!

If the nutrition facts state 0% fat, then they are supposed to have 0% fat.

So true. They keep changing it around. Milk is good, milk is bad. Eggs are good, eggs are bad. I think moderation is the key.

In the case of the example that you cave above, such as an egg or other naturally occurring food that is not a "pure" constituent, there will be a combination of two methods used,
