I saw this as well. I'm wondering if she's has intentions of hosting another show on her own network?

From one who can't get her show and would love to be able to ... I feel for you all, who will miss it.

I used to see it in the UK and would make sure I took the opportunity.

Can't imagine her not wanting to do something in the same vein. Will be interesting to see what comes next.

Default Oprah

Sometimes I agree with what she is doing on her show and other times I don't, but either way she inspires me. When you think of all the abuse she had to overcome- and other hardships I am sure, she has really used her abilities to help others. I wonder what she will do next.

I just read this about Oprah network, OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network):

"A joint venture between Harpo, Inc., Oprah Winfrey and Discovery Communications, OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network is a multiplatform media company designed to entertain, inform and inspire people to live their best lives. OWN will debut in more than 70 million homes on what is currently the Discovery Health Channel. The venture also will include the award-winning digital platform Oprah. com."
Jamila Hunter Named Head of Programming at OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network - Oprah.com

So she definitely has more projects in the works!

I also read that Oprah's empire is worth 2.7 billion dollars. She certainly does "OWN."

I'm sure every year becomes more of a grind for her. Getting older and working those kind of hrs can be a killer. She should take the time off and spend some of that money.

I agree with Queen Beez ... she should enjoy the fruits of her labour at last and take time to spend some of that lovely cash.

But, it is in her blood, I would imagine to keep going ... it's not her fault she attracts so much money ...

Oh for that attraction ... lol

Hi,
The Oprah Winfrey Show is an American syndicated talk show, hosted and produced by Oprah Winfrey is the highest-rated talk show in American television history. It is currently the longest-running daytime television talk show in the United States, having run nationally since September 8, 1986, for over 22 seasons and 3,724 episodes November 21, 2008. The show is renewed through 2011, but in a 2007 interview with Larry King, Oprah said that in 2011, she will not renew her contract, thus ending the show. The show, a production of Harpo Productions, is the last program currently on the air to be distributed by King World in the Friday show's distribution credits even though the latter company has been absorbed by CBS Television Distribution. On November 19, 2009, Oprah Winfrey's production company announced the show will be ending on September 9, 2011.It is a sad thing that the show will be no more in 2011.
Thanks...

Yes, she’s leaving.

Of late there have been some issues. The scandal at her school, her weight problem, Dr. OZ leaving, her ratings has fallen drastically according to the Nielsen Media Research, the audience can no longer identify well with her because of her celebrity and millionaire status and (probable) conjectures by her producing company of political bias by endorsing the then Democratic presidential candidate, Obama. Since the show began, the emphasis has been on a modest and image of an everyday, modestly looking interviewer asking celebrities questions but Oprah herself became a celebrity.

The Producer is very sensitive about host profile. If they gather anything wrong, it is likely they may not want to sign you on again. Oprah is still interested in talk show because she says she will do her own show but why not with the company? So she wants to do the work but maybe the execs are not trying to give her the chance. You may recall that Dr OZ is also leaving to form his own network.

According to audience profile reports, Oprah gets more of her viewership from the conservative and south but that figure has been dropping over the last three years. It s believed that her producers attribute that to Oprah in some way although it has not been made public.
