Chili and cornbread is my favorite wintertime dinner! I make a chili with no beans, and most people don't like my recipe because of it

Just about anything in a crock pot. Seriously. It makes the house smell yummy all day, and it's always cozy.

Crock pot stew.

about 2 cups of cubed small stewing beef.
4 ish cups of cubed potatoes.
2 or 3 carrots sliced
Diced onion (if you want to.) OR a quarter minced fresh garlic clove
a can of cream of mushroom OR cream of celery soup.
fill that can with water and add some beef stock (I use 3 tablespoons or so of Watkins.)
a couple of shakes of pepper (I use a garlic pepper blend also from Watkins.)

mix it all together right in the crock pot

let it go for at least 7 hours on low.

This one, I've done so much, that I really don't measure anything. I've doubled this without issue (although I'll sometimes put it on high for the first 2 hours, then low for the rest, if I'm doubling it.)

It's so yummy.

Baked ham, scalloped potatoes, etc etc.
Pulled pork, pulled beef

ATyr googling Hearty dinners or something like that to give you some ideas. allrecipes might have some suggestions or try foodnetwork.com I usually read there to get an idea then search out easier recipes. LOL

Good luck!

Oh and to the person who does their chili without beans? That's how we do it too!

I have an easy recipe for homemade bread, I'll have to look for it and post it.

And also, I know this isn't supper, but in the winter time I LOVE baking cookies!! anykind will due. But as a little girl we always made sugar cookis and used cookie cutters. Can't wait to make them with my son. It's still pretty warm over here, AZ.
