With breaks and everything my fourth grader has about a seven hour day but I try to structure it just like school with recesses and lunch.

My hubby does homeschool and the average is 3-4 hours per day for both of my boys. It just depends on how long it takes to do their school work for the day. Of course, there are some days when they have no homeschool at all, depending on what is going on. For instance, both boys are Scouts and if they have a weekend camp-out, they will leave a day or two early so they can set up camp and then do some local nature trails and attend park ranger tours and discussions - a great way to cover the physical education and science aspects of their studies!

We do around 4 hours per day, but it also depends on what we have planned for the week. Sometimes I like to add a extra hour so we can have no school on Friday, but that is only if we get everything done during the first four days of the week!

We're pretty unschooly, so "educational activities" encompass a wide range. For sit-down work, they each have about an hour per day... they're 11 and 8. Of course, they might work on a project for several hours, or they might not, on any given day.

Completely depends on the day, the mood, and what other cool things there are to do!

This is how we are. Mostly we do about 1-2 hours a day. He is in Kindergarten so sitting down and doing book work is not our strong suit right now. We are working on lots of different things. Yesterday we worked on our little garden area I know next year we will be using a more structured curriculum and it will be longer but for this year this is what works for us.

We do maybe 2-3 hours tops. Of course we also school year round and that may be why we are able to do less hours a day and less days a week...
