Default What frustrates you about the homeschooling process?

What frustrates you about the homeschooling process?
- Is it the fact that you can't find everything you need in one place?
- Is it the fact that you don't know which resources are useful and which ones are not?

Or is there something else?

I would prefer to download a sample of every curriculum before I purchase. In fact, for the most part I just won't spend money on something I can't try before I buy.

So many books... so little time. :-)
I think I want to study everything, but it's not realistic. I have to step back and focus on the basics -- reading, writing and math. Those are really the key elements to an education. But history is so fun!

The main frustration for me is getting my child to do what she needs to do. Ten minutes of writing becomes 30 minutes, leaving less room for other things I'd like to do.

My 7 year old has ADHD, so it is pretty frustrating trying to get him to pay attention to what we are doing. Some days are better than others. However, some of the programs we supplement with test the child to see what lessons to present and he fails them miserably because of his attention issues. Luckily, my 5 and 8 year olds can work independently while I do extended 1-on-1 with him.

I so hear you! My son has ADHD and trying to get him to stay on task is so frustrating! A simple writing assignment sometimes takes him 30 to 45 minutes! It is just a constant struggle for us both but I know it's for the best.
