It might help to talk to a third party who can listen to both of you and provide you with feedback. If he has concerns they do need to be addressed. There is a need to decide if his concerns are well founded. Then you both need to decide how to address them. If his fears are not grounded then you need to address his lack of confidence. If his concerns are real you need to have a plan. However, having a third party might give both of you a chance to hear each other.

It sounds as if you are not quite on the same page with parenting styles.
