Default Do you know what is wrong with my son?

I have googled and googled and not getting far. Below is what has been done/symptoms......

Basically he is tired all the time. He is getting 11 hours of sleep every night. It was 10ish but bumped up his bed time to try helping him. This started about 9 months ago and has continually gotten worse. He had blood tests done in May of 2011, September of 2011 and all was normal. He also had xrays/urine tests in September also. He has continually had more and more trouble in school as far as staying focused, listening, sitting down, ect. I started homeschooling about 4 weeks ago but have not seen any changes. They almost seem like symptoms of aspergers how ever they have not always been there. However they have continued to get worse and worse. I guess they are some symtoms that he had when he was 3 or 4, but I figured out that it was only when he was tired. So I am leaning towards the "asperger" issues as being because he is tired.

I have tried changing his diet to be healthier, exercise, outings, vitamins, ect. He used to be a happy and very energetic kid. I am having people that have not seen him for a long time take one look at him and ask if he's ok. These are people that do not know there is a concern. The last couple said he looked exhausted.

Sometimes he has headaches, pain in here and there places. For a few days his legs hurt...one day his tummy. So don't know that is related at all.

His doctor also mentioned maybe depression.....I am really not thinking that is the cause. It might be a symptom of what ever is going on but the problem. He has healthy home, no divorce, have not moved, healthy brother, family near by, ect.

We have another doctors appointment on Friday.....I am trying not to be the over protective crazy mom....I just know there is something wrong. Before this he was healthy as a horse....he hardly ever got sick. In the last year he has been sick more often with colds/flu stuff than he did the previous 5 years!

Tests just keep coming back "normal".....

TIA

Did they test his adrenal glands to see how they are functioning and test for any possible autoimmune disease? I know this is also out there but what about possible mold exposure? My thoughts are with you.

Sorry you and your son are going through this

I know you said his diet is good, but it's important to take a
closer look.

My suggestion would be to make sure he's completely off of sugar
and start an alkaline diet to balance his pH levels. This will help
purify the blood of whatever may be causing the difficulties.

Look further into Alkaline vs. Acid and the benefits of Alkalinity.
It's super important.

I hope this helps a little. Just let me know if you have any questions.

Depression is a real illness that can cause the symptoms you are describing. Don't dismiss it so easily because it can be debilitating and really become a health issue. It can affect mood, blood pressure, eating habits, sleep patterns, activity and lead to huge health problems. It does not mean that your son is mentally ill or that nothing is wrong because your doctor wants to consider depression. There are some great meds that help in these cases. It might be worth giving it a try and see if soem meds help.

Could be hormonal. How old is he? How is he socially? Since medical is perfectly fine, I am really curious as to why he would be tired and not feel well. Diet could be another thing to look at.

Smile the best thing that...

First you have to calm yourself. The good news is...he is normal. Keep in mind that you have control of the situation.Your son needs your love more than ever now. Take note, everything in your life happens for a reason. Keep the conversation flowing...never leave an idle time with your son. You can't see results overnight but improvement will show in the long run.

Sorry he is going through this. How old is he and has anyone checked his vitamin d levels? Not all doctors check for this. Try to get a second opinion from a homeopathic or nutritionist doctor. He may have chronic fatigue syndrome.http://kidshealth.org/parent/system/ill/cfs.html# You can try earthclinic.com for some home remedies. I will definitely keep ya in my prayers.

Has your doctor looked into mono? My daughter got it when she was three. With the tiredness and the multiple illnesses, it could very well be mono. The blood test they must do to test for it is not generally included in the regular blood workup.
