Default Collectibles for kids

I have a 7 year old daughter who wants to collect something. So far she doesnt like any of my ideas, which were stickers and postage stamps. That's what I collected as a child.

Do you have any ideas? Did you collect something interesting when you were a child? Do your kids collect something special?

I collected ceramic and hand blown glass figures as a child, I graduated to depression glass as an adult

All three of my sons collect baseball cards and diecast

One daughter loves anything turtle; another collects Hello Kitty jewelry (she's in her mid 20's)

Another daughter has an impressive Tinkerbell collection - lamps, figurines, wall hangings.....

I have a DD who collects rocks

The nine year old collects Build a Bears, sea shells, and flowers (she dries & presses them) from special days

My youngest DS collects coins and books - Old copies of Robinson Crusoe, Dr Doolittle, etc.....

Baseball cards are always fun, and can be easily connected to real world activities and events. Also teaches kids the value of investment and how prices can increase and decrease depending on player performance - like the stock market. Good luck!

How about coins from different currencies? I'm sure she would loved that. Or perhaps she can collect any dolls she wants inspired by Bratz, Winx, Barbie and other girl cartoon characters.

Aside the things already mentioned, here are some of the things I collect, and still do to this very day:

Comics - I will forever be a kid at heart. Nuff said.
Coins from a specific year - It took me 8 year to collect all the coins related to the year I was born from my country, and it was a very satisfying feeling.

This one is from a collector I know. He has every McDonald collectible ever made in Australia! Start em young, I guess.
