I work for the state and they are starting to give me a hard time about having to miss days due to my husbands health and the needs of my children. I am just praying that I recieve the guidance to do what is best for my family. I only stay because of the insurance but there are days like today and tomorrow where my husbands medical tests require me to be home to care for him and our youngest child. If I could get the insurance benefits at home things would be wonderful. I could care for him on his bad days and still work. I am so tired of jumping through hoops to prove why I have to be off. They have known since they hired me what my home situation was and you would think this wouldn't be such a pain. Who knows? I am just stressed. I can't afford to lose insurance for my husband or kids but I can't afford to be away from home on days like today.

That's deffinitely a difficult situation you're in tandmsmom! You have my empathy.
Do you have any family members that could help out in a pinch here and there so you don't have to jepardize your job/insurance? (I'm guessing probably not, since you are sharing here) The only thing I can think of initially is a service that I've heard a lot of good things about over the years called "Visiting Angels". (VistingAngels.com 1-800-365-4189 ) They provide a wide variety of home health care services from just a few hours to fulltime, are well respected, and even allow you the opportunity to meet with care workers before selecting the one you feel most comfortable with. Some of the services provided include: •Hygiene Assistance •Meal preparation/Diet monitoring •Light housekeeping •Errands and Shopping •Joyful companionship •Affordable Hourly rates! •Live in, Live- out, sleep-over •Mornings, mid-day, evenings •Temporary or Long term •Weekends, holidays •Respite for family caregivers Not sure if this is even feasible for you, but it's all I can think of right now. In the meantime we'll deffinitely be praying for you. God Bless! Ron & Terri

I am new to this site and just joined 2 days ago. I just stumbled across your posting and my heart goes out to you. You read your bible and find scriptures that apply to your situation.
It WILL help. We'll keep you and yours in our prayers. |

Did you know that WineShop At Home offers health insurance to its wine consultants? If you're only staying for the health insurance, at least do something you love- like drinking wine!

tandmsmom, You're in my prayers. We have a family member who has required 24/7 care for the past year (thankfully she's nearly fully recovered now, but still needs help). I can't imagine what we would've done if we hadn't had family & friends who could help while her husband continued to work full-time. I hope you find the right resources for your family to make life less stressful. Does he qualify for any sort of home care that your insurance may cover? The site that Ron & Terry recommended also sounds like something to look into. I hope you have someone who can be a support for you, too. This is a lot for you to handle alone. Jenn |

That's unfortunate and I totally understand the stress that you are faced with with having to put your "JOB" before your familyi!! That really sucks... been there done that.
I would suggest that you stay strong and hang in there for the time being (unless you want to focus finding another job).... and try to start a very inexpensive home based business to get you started.... at least so you can start brining in some extra money... even if its just enough to pay for the phone bill or car note, etc...for now! This way... you can start working part time on your fortune and full time on your income! What this means is... start an affortable business part time... so that you can eventually LEAVE YOUR "JOB" (like I did cause they were driving me nuts too)... and then you can start working for yourself FULL TIME or at YOUR leisure. This way you can be there for your family when they need you! My suggestion is to start an internet business cause its more affortable AND once you have your business out there on the internet... it start to work on "autopilot".... There is nothing BETTER than waking up to money in your account... knowing that the day before you did not do much work for your business (but of course this takes time to build cause it will not happen over night). But, it can happen very quickly! No job is worth that kind of stress. So, it's better to get your plan B ready... just in case THEY decide they dont want YOU anymore! Hope this helps! |
