Hi Ladies,
This is my first time posting in this section of the forum. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for at home workout machines. I'm looking to lose a little weight and feel healthier on a daily basis. I have had gym memberships in the past and have kept up with my workouts for a couple of months...and then lost the motivation to even go to the gym. I like how I feel when I work out but sometimes I don't want to even leave my apartment to drive to the gym. (lazy, I know!)I was thinking that maybe if I buy some sort of fitness equipment for my home, I would be able to stick with it more. Maybe something that I can do while I watch TV or go about my every day. I have a smaller apartment, so I would need something portable. My goal would be to focus on my abs and my legs. Does anyone have any suggestions or thoughts on equipment that they've used in the past? Thanks!

I'd recommend a stability ball and maybe a bar that you can put across a doorway for doing inverted rows. If you're short on space, you can do everything you need using bodyweight exercises. I just gave a HUGE list to a friend. It's amazing how much we can do just with our own bodies!
I also use kettlebells in my workouts, which are great for legs and core, but I recommend getting properly trained on their use. If you are a woman of typical size and strength, one 18 pound (8 kilo) kettlebell will be fine. If you are a bit larger or stronger, then one 25 pound kettlebell (12 kilo) will be good. As you get stronger, you may want to buy a second of the same size, or a larger one to use for deadlifts and swings. I use 35lbs for deadlifts and two-hand swings and 25lbs for most other things I do.
