Unhappy Mont. teacher disappears while running; shoe found/update

This is just heart breaking news.

Running shoe only clue to disappearance of Montana math teacher who didn’t return from a run - The Washington Post

For any runners, walkers, bicyclists be sure to go with a buddy or take pepper spray/mace spray with you, cell phone, let people know your going out (my mom always knows when I go out for a run) . You just never know there are many 4 leg & 2 leg predators out there I hope they find her okay soon!

About 20 years ago, I was out walking early one evening on a fully lit main street in an upscale neighborhood when I was attacked. He had taken his shoes off and snuck up behind me grabbing me and pinning both of my arms to my sides. I learned that night that I can scream bloody murder, but the neighbors thought it was kids playing night games. Fortunately for me, he let me go when I started screaming.

Personally, I would never walk alone after dark, especially with a headset on where I couldn't be totally aware of my surroundings. Always look around you. Pay attention to who you meet or anything that seems unusual. I had seen this guy earlier on a bicycle and he was dressed for summer on a very chilly October evening. He was cleancut college-age guy that you would never suspect to be anything other than a nice kid.

To make a long story short, they never caught him, but he attacked several women over a period of a few months. I would guess he moved on to worse crimes against women before he was done. I was lucky to just get grabbed inappropriately...

I refuse to run outside because of this. Which is actually kind of sad but I do have plenty of fun cardio workouts I can do inside my home. Still pretty lame that people can't go for a walk outdoors without having to worry somebody's lurking in the shadows. I hope they find her soon!

Unhappy Montana Teacher dead

Man in custody.

This is just heartbreaking. She seemed to be really loved and liked by so many... Its just not right.

When I go running I never really think about what bad things could happen (my mom does she hates it) she always tells me I really wish you wouldn't do that its just not safe.

She loves winter so I run on the treadmill at home.

Be careful out there! ~Amy

Oh no! I hope they are ok too. Very important to let someone know your whereabouts.
