Default Protein powder

Hey,

I've been contemplating buying a protein powder, as I've read that a high protein diet can help with weight loss and it seems like something I can just add to a smoothie to make it a little easier to up the intake. I exercise occasionally, but I need to do a bit more of this as well.

So, any recommendations? I'm in the UK, but I guess a lot of these can be bought worldwide...

Thanks!

Oh gosh, spam...that's all I need! "You can become a customer for free and order whatever and whenever you like" - yeah, it's a real bummer when you have to pay to become a customer! Jeez!

Default You asked, I answered

Excuse me but you asked for a recommendation and I gave you one. That is not spam.

As to becoming a customer for free, maybe I did not explain that you would be able to get wholesale pricing.

Your reply was just plain rude. "Jeez!"

I think Jay Robb is the best. Tastes great and they use Stevia instead of artificial sweeteners (ie, death).

Best of luck in your search.

Hi Jill,

Yes! High protein is a great way to begin. 20grams per serving is optimum. Feel free to get in touch and I will share some information with you I know you will love!

I'm sorry if I sounded rude Lillian, but you're still sounding like a salesperson to me - thanks for the recommendation anyway.

"Jay Robb" looks really good, so thanks for the recommendation cindi.

I've been looking at a new "Organic Whey Protein" here in the UK but they aren't launching until February apparently and I can't wait that long! There are loads of organic protein powders in the USA though, and cheaper than Jay Robb is "Tera's Whey" - it looks yummy, and not too expensive either.

When I've made up my mind, I'll post back with feedback!

Thanks girls!

I searched until I found one using stevia as well. Also, be aware of the sugars you add to it when you start adding in fruits, etc. I mean you could still get a great protein powder but if losing weight is your goal you don't want to add things with sugar.

Thanks for the heads up Loretta. To be honest, I don't have a sweet tooth at all, so if it tastes ok on its own then I won't be adding any extra.

I've tried many different kinds and some of the best tasting to me with a good amount of protein are Optimum Nutrition Whey, Muscle Milk or Muscle Milk Light and Myofusion.

I was looking up muscle milk and I came across a report that says it is high in heavy metals, check it out:
Consumer Reports Heavy Metal In Popular Protein Powders | The Fitness Blog Of Jimmy Smith

But, optimum whey nutrition had the lowest levels, so that'll be worth checking out!

The reason I'd prefer an organic protein powder is that it apparently has very low levels of heavy metals - I don't know how true this is, but I think it makes sense, as pesticides contain a lot of nasty heavy metals as well as other horrible crap.

Thank
